happy weekend! This was a busy one – mostly because I had jury duty which resulted in a lot of late nights to get all my work done. It’s crazy how missing one day can throw off your whole week. The biggest thing is that WE ANNOUNCED OUR PODCAST LIVE SHOW TOUR! We are going to Boston, Chicago, DC, Nashville, and Charleston so if you are in one of those cities we’d absolutely love to see you there. So, so excited. As for this weekend I am excited for brunch at Palma with a new girlfriend and to see an advanced screening of The Hustle tonight but also just to get some rest and chill out a little bit. Yoga. Books. Blankets. My favorite things. Whatever you’re up to, I hope it’s great! xx
Weekend Reading | 4.27.19
My sister always makes the most delicious homemade salad dressings. Julia’s post has me inspired to start doing the same.
I can’t personally speak to the quality but this is a great affordable alternative to my favorite Rhode dress.
Loved these photos of Krystal – AND that vespa belongs to my best friend – loved seeing that, too, haha!
This wrap top is so pretty – it would be perfect for the office or a date, depending on how you style it.
Loved this thoughtful post about what Jen has learned from her mother.
Totally thought this dress was Ulla Johnson (plus option here).
I can’t stop listening to Lizzo’s new album – SO GOOD. Anyone else?
I thought Geri’s post on skin fasting was really interesting. Have you done this? Would you try it?
I’m loving this series and am so excited to dive into the second book this weekend.
Agree with this political review (by Elizabeth Warren!) of GoT: the world needs fewer Cersei Lannisters!
Hell yes! The ultimate productivity hack is SAYING NO.
Very very into this footwear designer – her shoes are so unique, especially these!
This steak recipe sounds so good!
This is a great affordable but expensive looking watch.
I binge listened to Jess’s podcast this week. I have known her for a long time and think she’s just so well spoken (but also real and honest!!!) Her episode with Kate from Be There in Five was one of my favorites.
The best Spring suits!
An interesting article – The Instagram Aesthetic is Over. Goodbye pink walls and avocado toast?
Love this rainbow heart bracelet!
Only Helena could look this chic in a simple tee and jeans!
I have been testing this moisturizer (for my retinol/vitamin C nights where I don’t use Dr. Bader – more on that here!) and LOVE it so far. It’s a really good one if you have dry skin.
A quick relaxation technique!
DVF collaborated with her granddaughter and the clothes are really cute.
To those who have asked about the charging mats I have all over my apartment (Becca got them too and we talked about them on the pod). This is the brand!
For those who loved Tell Me Lies as much as I did (mostly because we’ve all dated a Stephen at some point, no??)…. turns out it’s autobiographical!
I’m loving these simple woven mules.
Mary’s gender reveal was SO fun to watch (and I generally skip over that stuff). I can confirm that her and Rich are just as hilarious and fun in real life – one of my favorite couples.
Loved Kat’s guide to buying art for your home.
Bc you know I love a good botanical print. (Plus version here.)
This ($89!) dress is perfect for Spring events. I may get it to wear to one of our live shows.
Four perfect Spring outfits. I’d maybe skip some of the accessories (knee socks) but got a lot of inspiration from this!
Hope you have fun on your podcast show! I’m sure it’ll be a blast! Sounds like you have a lovely weekend ahead of you too! 🙂

Thanks Charmaine!
I starting making my own salad dressing a few years ago and it is so easy. I usually do honey mustard or a honey basalmic. 3 tb olive oil, 2 tb vinegar, 1 tb honey, 1 tb mustard if applicable, pepper. Put in a small mason jar, shake vigorously, taste. So easy and can be scaled up or down. This makes enough for about 2-3 side salads.
I rarely buy dressing anymore because it is so easy and there are plenty of variations.
Yum! Thanks for sharing!
I’ve tried skin fasting out of sheer laziness — LOL! Since I work from home, I generally don’t wear makeup. I absolutely love makeup, so sometimes I’ll try new products or new techniques, but it’s definitely not unusual to go a week or two straight sans makeup. I also used to be a lot more lazy about skincare — it wasn’t unusual for me to splash water on my face and call it a day. These days, I follow a strict skincare routine, and I absolutely notice a difference from my lazy “skin fasting” days, even though my routine is fairly simple. I can see a makeup fast being beneficial, but no way I’m giving up my skincare!
HAHAHAHA same- unless I have a shoot I am usually makeup free!!
Also agree re: skincare. I’m a mess without mine!
I have been hearing a lot about Lizzo, I guess I will definitely have to have a listen! And this what I have learned from my mother post looks awesome. Thanks for sharing!
YAY – you MUST check her out. I am so late to the party but obsessed with her.
Thank you so much for the inspo! Happy weekend!
