Weekend Reading

Sometimes I get so busy and bogged down with just getting through the day (work – blog – try to have a life – make jewelry… repeat…) that I forget to slow down and just appreciate life.  This was one of those weeks.  I felt like I was on a roller coaster.  I was so busy that I barely got any sleep.  On Thursday night I got home from an event, rushed right into finishing up Friday’s blog post, and then realized… I should be celebrating… life is good!  I opened up a bottle of wine and silently toasted the world…  alone in my apartment, in my sweatpants.  There are a lot of balls in the air right now, but being busy is good, and I am really happy and just plain excited for what is to come.  Sometimes I feel guilty feeling happy/excited, but I think that’s silly… especially since I work so hard.  I guess that even when there is lot s to be done, it’s still important to celebrate the little things and smaller victories in between getting to your bigger goal.  Otherwise, it would just be all work and no play.  There were a lot of highlights this week.  On Tuesday I went to to a benefit with my boyfriend and four other couples.   I wore this dress.  I got to see my girls (Honestly WTF) at their DIY event on Wednesday, I met the incredibly talented  Ariel Gordon, I met the (legendary in my mind) jewelry designer Gorjana at her holiday party on Thursday, and I (whoop!) shipped out my first few Etsy orders this week!  Right now, I’m in LA.  Stefan was out here for work, so I joined him.  Perfect excuse to soak up some California sun, unplug, and hang out with our West Coast pals.

Here are a few things I loved this week.  Whatever you are doing, I hope it was fab!

How to tie the perfect (Tiffany) bow.

These Kate Spade Coasters were on my wish list, so naturally I adore this DIY!

A pretty, easy braided updo!

Lavender ice cream?  Amazing.

I’m obsessed with BaubleBar’s designer boutique and love how Alicia styled it.

Party outfit inspiration.

Obsessing over this Taffeta Peplum.

Eddie Borgo’s new jewelry boxes.

Loved this outfit, so much.
