Hello from freezing NYC! I don’t know what happened but it turned into freezing cold winter weather yesterday. I stayed indoors most of the day… it was just. so. cold! I got back from LA late on Monday and have been busy playing catch-up (and prepping for next week’s trip – I leave for Europe for almost two weeks on Wednesday… wahoo!) In between, I have been binge-watching Victoria and reading The Dollhouse (so, so good if you love historical fiction, New York, and are looking for a new book). There aren’t any political links in this week’s round-up (not on purpose, I’ve just found myself gravitating to the news + lighter reading this week) BUT I will say that I donated to the ACLU this week and would encourage you to do the same if you are compelled and able – I think that regardless of your political views, we can all agree that what is happening is really sad. I feel powerless but I know that donating at least will do some good.
The coolest Air BNB’s in every state! I need to go to Georgia… now!
Along those lines… this site reached out to me this week and I just thought it was so cool: Meet Glamping Hub… it’s like Air BnB for chic tents, cabins, tee-pees, + more. I really want to book something once the weather warms up.
I’m planning a trip to Charleston in March and am pretty sure I need this sweet off-the-shoulder dress.

Yes, so intrigued to try Chanel’s Blue Serum… I’ve always heard such good things about their skincare products in general! And eeeps, stay warm, we just went from early spring weather, back to freezing cold temps and a huge dump of snow. Um, so unexpected for us west coasters!! xo

I’m pretty new to your blog- I found you because I was looking for face oil reviews and recommendations! While I absolutely enjoy reading about all things beauty, it’s so refreshing (and, I truly believe, NECESSARY) that you also speak about “real” topics- feminism, the ACLU, what is currently happening in this country. I love and respect that you use your platform and your voice to blend such serious, important issues with the lighter, fun ones- real life is definitely is a combination of the two, and it’s nice to be reminded that they aren’t completely separate. So many bloggers stay away from the “heavier stuff” so they don’t offend anybody…but I think it’s great that you are willing to speak up and offer up a dose of both. Maybe you can’t make everybody happy, but IMO you are doing a damn good job 😉 Thank you!
Aw, I am so happy to hear that you are enjoying my blog (and the more heavy/serious side of things) – truly appreciate it! xo
I’ve just started buying 3-wick candles from Bath & Bodyworks and have been racking my brain trying to thing of what to do with the empty glass jars. Definitely moving them to the bathroom for some organization. That was a great tip
