Weekend Reading.

J.Crew Factory drop-waist drawstring dress in vivid lemon - Shot at Horseshoe Bay, Bermuda - Grace Atwood, The Stripe
coverup

Oh hello! I am back from Bermuda and getting settled in. We shot SO many photos over the course of the trip, it’s been quite a project going through and getting everything organized! I’m so incredibly excited though.. next week I will have a few fun outfits on the blog as well as a (very comprehensive) travel guide with everything we did! I will be working most of the weekend but last night I had a fun dinner with one of my best friends at Rosie’s (my fave Mexican restaurant right now), and tonight I am doing this really cool sounding behind the scenes tour of The Met. So, so looking forward to that. Whatever you’re up to, I hope it’s great… enjoy the beautiful weather!

A beautifully written piece about grief.

My YAY! phone case is back in stock.

I loved Merritt’s white lace top.

I’m definitely having a moment with yellow right now. Crushing on this lace dress.

As an unabashed Southern Charm fan, I loved Patricia Altschul’s etiquette tips.

This off-the-shoulder dress is so cute.. and it’s under $40!

A really great read about shame, and Monica Lewinsky.

Perfect stripes.

I’m with Christine – tailoring is so important.

Do these things to be more productive.

I can’t believe these lace up sandals are only $35. They are pretty perfect.

A yummy sounding lunch idea.

The cutest embellished sandals.

Tips & tricks for a better night of sleep.

Love how Jess styled a cute navy dress five different ways.

A really pretty midi dress that won’t break the bank.

So obsessed with Erica’s new rug… and her home, in general. These photos are beautiful!

An easier way to wear the lace-up trend.

No way would this wild floral arrangement fit in my tiny apartment… but I love it anyway!

Blog I’m loving right now: Lavin Label. I found Monica’s blog via Instagram, when I was stalking the #jetbluegetaways hashtag to see what other bloggers were going on trips. I fell in love with all of her amazing travel content, cool DIY ideas (this terrarium is so cool!), and sweet Southern style.

Cannot wait to hear more about Bermuda – it’s definitely on my list of future destinations! I haven’t watched it, but my best friend watched the Monica Lewinsky Ted Talk on a flight we were on, and I looked over to see her crying (a rare sight). Apparently it’s really insightful but very sad – how she was treated after everything is really heartbreaking. P.S. that yellow looks amazing on you! You look so happy and beautiful!

You have to go!!! It’s such a beautiful place.

Re: Monica, I really want to watch her TED talk next. I have such a poor attention span for video. It’s really sad to me. And it’s sadder that it is STILL happening… she will never be able to escape it and live down what happened what… twenty years ago?

Anyway thanks for the comment and can’t wait to see you and Deirdre on Tuesday in Charleston!!! We are going to eat ALL of the oysters!

Okay, I just watched the TED talk. Made me cry as well. Definitely recommend.

Looking forward to hearing more about Bermuda. I think a beach you vacation is in my future( I will wait until Fall prob)or Telume. I will read the rest of the column later when I am home from work. Thank you for the post about grief. You may remember I mention my sister passed just before Christmas, so I appreciate it. GRief is a strange country to navigate and every loss is different. One another note, it would be great if you noted what you were wearing under the outfits. For instance, the off the shoulder black dress. Are you wearing a bra? I really have to and maybe some of your other readers too? Just a thought . 🙂

I do remember that Cy, and I am so sorry. I can’t imagine what it would be like to lose a sibling. I am very close with my two sisters and would be lost without them.

So, I will try to do that more but it feels a bit awkward talking about lingerie. I am doing a post about a really fantastic strapless bra the week after this one (it’s the Wacoal Red Carpet – it literally stays up all day!) In the case of the off the shoulder black dress, no – I wasn’t wearing a bra. I usually don’t go braless, but the dress is stretchy and had enough support for me personally. I had tried it with a bra and it kept showing through the top of the cut-out so I just scrapped it!!

I hope you have a great weekend! Thanks (as you always do) for taking the time to stop by with a thoughtful comment! xx

  5. Can’t wait to read about Bermuda! Also, you look stunning in the photo above (you always do, but the yellow + the beach suits you!)!
