Aloha and greetings from Kauai! We’ve been here for only a day now, and I’m already in love. Today is one of my best girlfriends’ weddings and I’m so excited to be out here to celebrate with her. It’s a bit surreal to finally be here as we’ve been planning the trip since last November! Five of us rented a villa on Hanalei Bay and it’s pure magic/relaxation. For the rest of the week we’ll just be laying low and exploring, having what we’re calling a “grandma vacation” aka eating super healthy and going to bed early. I can’t wait. Lots of hiking, lots of sightseeing, experiencing the island’s culture, and so on and so forth. I’ll leave you with a quote I love: “We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.” Good, right?

Loved this interview with one of my best friends.

Sad news for my fellow cat ladies: your cat may not actually care about you.

Tips on cooking for one.

I didn’t do a Labor Day Sale roundup this year, but the one sale I shopped was Rebecca Taylor. I look forward to her sale every year as she marks down sale an extra 40% off. (Use code LABORDAY40.) I ended up buying three things… this white dress, this white dress, and this pullover.

Cool and innovative ways to display indoor plants (I love the lightbulb!)

Such a fun idea… embellish a basket with rafia pom poms!

A great recipe for roast chicken… (and Joy really made me laugh…. she’s such a hilarious writer).

Perfect stripes.

On creating the perfect morning routine

For the wanderers: quotes to inspire your travels.

The best blanket scarf is back in stock!

Anyone else really excited about Athleta x Derek Lam? The pieces look so great. (Launching 9/9)

The cutest tie-neck dress.

A pretty eye makeup trick for Fall.

I really love the ankle strap around these leopard flats.

Loved this look on Blair.

Makes me want to plan a trip to Italy… and eat all the things.

Another great neutral look from Helena.

Hope you have fun on your trip. I’ve been to Hawaii 4 times and never left the airport. Such a shame. Love your links.
