Weekend Reading 10.18.25

Hope you had a great week! I’ve been out west for my boyfriend’s college reunion. Tonight, I take the redeye home to Charleston as I have a big event tomorrow, and then I am probably going to crash, hibernate, and not see a soul for a few days. The past few weeks have been great, but I am feeling a touch disoriented and scattered. Where am I? What day is it? Anyway: whatever you’re up to, I hope it’s great. Have the best weekend! Xo

Great post as always. I have to say it’s frustrating (not on you at all) that I cannot read some links because the Substack is behind a pay wall. As you have heard me say in past, your Substack is the only one I pay for. I will be by a JCrew this weekend and curious to see the scarf jacket in person…the fabric looks “shiny” and no one likes shiny more than me but not sure if I like it in the fabric…we will see. I want to be a tea drinker, especially as the weather turns in the midwest where I live…I just feel like I want more flavor in a hot drink…however a friend told me of a fave tea she has and used 2 teabags in her cup so may give that a try.

I know, it’s frustrating on my end too. And for the publishers! Banner ads used to be such a lucrative model but these days they barely pay, all online media is struggling be it individuals on Substack or the NYT. I try to include gift links when possible like with the NYT and The Atlantic. Hopefully someone smart will come along with a better model that allows publishers to make money from their content.
