Weekend Reading | 1.25.20

happy WEEKEND! Last night I threw a big party to celebrate 10 years of blogging… so hopefully (I wrote this post in advance), it went well! My mom flew up from Charleston, my head of partnerships Kristin flew in from San Diego… and we celebrated in style with just a hundred of my closest pals (lol). This weekend I will probably lay pretty low! Whenever I have a big event (like a live show or party like this) I then go into introvert mode for a while. So I’ll probably be getting caught up on movies! Gravity blanket, Seamless.. what could be better!? Whatever you are up to, I hope it’s fab! xx

A reader emailed me this article about caned wallpaper and WHOA. I love it so much.

Really love this cute little cardigan. Try buttoning it up and tucking into mom jeans.

Loved Jacey’s tips for maintaining a clean, organized closet.

Ask yourself these questions before quitting a job.

I bought this kind of ridiculous phone case and it’s the best $10 I’ve spent in a while.

Because they’re easy and less of a mess: 30 sheet pan dinners and desserts!

This pretty printed dress is a great price and would be fun with boots!

For when it’s cold but you still need to look good: 5 functional (but fashionable!) outfits.

The perfect chunky knit sweater.

I’m exactly the same when big events happen, I need to go on introvert mode for a while to recharge. And that phone case is so cute! If my phone wasn’t already too big to fit into all my jeans and coat’s pockets, I’d definitely give it a go haha Clothing brands should start making bigger pockets as phones grow bigger, honestly…

Happy Sunday! Your party (from IG at least) looked like so much fun and hopefully it showed you what an impact you make in small and big ways!

I am super excited to see Gramercy Park Hotel on the list of fave NYC hotels (staying there in 2 weeks). I also had no idea about oil to moisturizer and since I am dehydrated and dry this is a DUH moment and excited for tonight’s skin care routine and properly applying oil! 🙂

Always love your fashion finds, interesting reads and overall fun tid bits of info!

Congrats on 10 years! It looked like a great party! Curious, can you expand on what your Head of Partnerships does? Is she just negotiating your brand contracts or is it something different? I love all the details Carly has shared about the behind the scenes. As someone who ONLY knows how to read and comment on things ;-). I find this world fascinating.

      Hi Sharon,

Yes, exactly that. Brands reach out to me if they want to do a sponsored post or partnership, and if I am interested in working with them I introduce them to Kristin. Kristin negotiates with the brand, reads through all my contracts to make sure they are kosher, and then (in many cases, not all) once contracts are signed, manages the back and forth, so I send her my drafts + creative ideas and then she passes them on to the brands.
