Want It: Pull-on Shorts.

Right now, my biggest shopping obsession / item I am hunting for is pull-on shorts. They are comfortable, and great with all of summer’s cute tops when you don’t feel like wearing a skirt. They’re versatile, too – so many ways to wear them, easy to dress up or down. A slinky camisole and heels make them ready for date night. Slides and a sweatshirt = camp counselor chic. Graphic tee and a fun shoe = polished cool. Crop top and wedges = ready for a party. If you ask me, they’re summer’s best basic. And any great basic that has an elastic waist is a winner in my book.

Pull-on Shorts

From Tibi, I bought these poplin sateen shorts (on sale!) and these leather shorts I wore (also on sale and also here!). Both options run very true to size. Both pairs have these great patch pockets in back which I love.

From AYR, I love love love the Staycation short (I have them in blue and green). Also true to size. Like boxer shorts but better.

And Madewell has such cute options too – these lightspun ones (partial to the cream “lighthouse” color), these smocked floral ones (have + love; they run true to size), and these denim shorts (also here!)

I still wear the Grana elastic-waitband jean shorts that I bought due to your rec several years ago!

This is such a great roundup! It’s too hot in Charleston in the summer to fuss with uncomfortable shorts and what better way to combat that than a pull on version!

YES. I always associated shorts as being uncomfortable… not these!!!

I love this style too, and have found some really cute comfy ones at American Eagle (both their main site and the aerie line)!

Thank you! Shorts are as challenging as bathing suits in my opinion!

Shorts symbolize the FUN parts of summer to me. I keep a Pinterest board just for shorts and all the summery things people do in them for inspiration–hiking, biking, going to ballgames, shopping the farmer’s markets in Provence… Thanks for the links!
