Besides all the family time in Charleston, my other favorite thing about living here right now is the WALKS. Charleston is the prettiest town and during an hour long walk you can go from everything to being by the ocean, wandering past historic homes and cobblestone streets, wandering through tree-lined parks, and ending up in the city’s bustling downtown area. The only thing is, the weather this time of year definitely keeps me on my toes. There are days where it’s in the low seventies, and days where it’s in the thirties. So I wear a lot of layers. I love being outdoors but I hate being cold.
Walking Favs With Backcountry
I have teamed up with Backcountry today to share some items that have been essential on my walks and would make for great gifts. I like that Backcountry clothes are fashionable but still casual and functional. Backcountry is a premium retailer for top outdoors and lifestyle brands and stock some of my absolute favorite brands like Patagonia, Beyond Yoga (the softest yoga pants I own), and more recently, Blundstone Boots.
Also! Backcountry has partnered with The Nature Conservancy since 2008 to support its mission of protecting the lands and waters on which all life depends. I love how easy it is to donate to The Nature Conservancy upon checkout at Backcountry.com.
Lastly: Backcountry has their Gear & Apparel promotion happening this month, where select styles are up to 40% off through 12/20. AND, for anything not on sale, you can also use code THESTRIPE15 for 15% off your first order at Backcountry.com (exclusions apply).
OK, Blundstone Boots live up to the HYPE!
My sisters both have them and I’d been curious about them for a while and when I saw the Chelsea boot style I knew they were just perfect. They are so comfortable, perfect for all weather (they’re fine when it rains, etc) and just an all around great everyday boot. These would make such a great gift as they are something the recipient will have and love forever.
This jacket is amazing.
It’s perfect for the weather here right now. It’s lightweight but then when the weather drops, it’s still warm. And it’s also water resistant and as I didn’t pack a raincoat, it’s been perfect! My mom is so cute and asked me if she could have it when I leave but I am going to buy her one as it’s the perfect lightweight parka and I absolutely cannot bear to part with mine! When I get back to New York I will definitely layer this under some of my parkas and teddy coats for added warmth and insulation.
