A few weeks ago, Vogue ran a story with their top trends for Spring ’23. Of course, I gobbled it up. I wouldn’t define my style as trendy by any stretch, but both for my job and my personal life, I like knowing what’s up, and feeling like I know what is going on in the fashion world. And one of the best things about new trends is picking and choosing what works with you and your own personal style. For me, there were four standout “trends” I really liked. All four are easy and approachable, and might even be things you already have in your closet. So let’s talk about those!
Vogue’s Spring Trends.. for the Rest of Us!
Countryside coats
I am obviously very into this one as it’s nice and classic. A few personal favs are this cropped bomber from Zara (I feel like this will get a lot of wear both now and down the road — it’s classic!), this Amazon find (honestly, every inch of it is amazing from the contrasting placket to the plaid lining), this one from & Other Stories (the cut is so good!), this Amazon quilted jacket (I have and love — size down), and this updated barn jacket (also have and love, runs TTS).
I’ll pair these types of jackets with denim (a mom jean or straight leg, nothing too voluminous) or over dresses, skirts, and matching sets to give them a more casual vibe.

rosettes
I will tell you I am loving this more feminine trend. Vogue pitches this one as a 3D take on the florals trend, when you’re feeling tired of florals. I only have a few to feature here but I also had to mention the (much pricier) Sonia Rykiel 3D Flower Sweater. A (Carrie Bradshaw-approved) classic. My best friend has the black and white one and it is gorgeous. In fact, I have a saved search on The RealReal for one of these… (I recommend setting up searches for both Sonia Rykiel Sweater and Sonia Rykiel Flower).
I will also tell you that I ordered the & Other Stories one, without being familiar with their sizes. And I was a bit shocked, I’m usually a 6 and the 6 was miniscule. I sent it back and ordered both the 8 and the 10. I will keep you posted on which size I keep.

Everyday Preciousness
Any sort of embellishment I will always love. Vogue advocates for pairing these more fun and special pieces with seriously understated basics (think threadbare tees, waffle knits, etc) to make the look perfect for daytime. I am partial to this one in particular, it’s a great price but has a Missoni vibe to it. I’d wear it with a simple white tee and nude sandals.
-
Feather Mini SkirtSo fun and special. I think this would look great with the Wal-mart tee in grey.Shop

hello moto
One last “trend,” though… is a great leather moto jacket truly a trend? I think it’s a classic. Regardless, it’s time to reach for your moto jackets again. This Zara one is my personal favorite (real leather + love all the zippers) but this faux leather version will set you back just a cool $59.

I really appreciate you breaking this down in an approachable way! I love seeing the trends but sometimes am like, how would a normal person wear that in their day to day…
I’m so happy you enjoyed the post!
