Virginia Packing List.

What to Pack for a Long Weekend in Virginia - The Stripe Blog

Tomorrow, I head to Virginia on a press trip! I am so excited. You know by now that I love, love, love the South but I haven’t visited Virginia since I was a little girl. We are splitting our time between Richmond and Charlottesville. The local visitor’s bureau is hosting us and when they asked me what I wanted to do, I said… “Wine, oysters, art, and history!” In that order! I am probably most excited about touring Monticello and seeing Pippin Hill Winery on Thursday evening. Both look absolutely gorgeous and so charming.

Here is a little roundup of what I am packing/what I wish I was packing. Of particular note: I picked up this ruffle sleeve sweater at J.Crew and think it’s just so cute. It’s an easier way to wear the bell-sleeve trend. I’m packing a mix of sweaters + dresses as I really want to wear all my sweaters, but I realize it will still be pretty warm down there, so I have to be realistic! Oh, and this weekender bag… it’s the best – looks so much more expensive than it actually is.

On the beauty front, I’m taking my favorite face mask (my skin is a wreck from being sick and constantly blowing my nose), a pretty Fall polish (this is going to be my fall go-to), and the best organic lotion. It smells like pumpkin spice and has 10% glycolic acid so it leaves your skin ultra smooth and flawless.

Top: Frame Le Garçon Jeans // Julie Vos Bracelet // Check Camel Scarf // Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask // Arcona Pumpkin 10% Lotion

Middle: Sea Off The Shoulder Dress // Isabel Marant Sleeved Dress // J.Crew Ruffle Sleeve Sweater // J.Crew Buffalo Plaid Button Down //  Essie Nail Polish in ‘Spiked with Style’ // Vince Platform Sneaker

Bottom: Sole Society Open Toe Booties // Tassel Earrings // Sole Society Weekender // J.Crew Peplum Stripe Tee // Cuyana Leather Tote

Love this post — I am from Charlottesville and hold it near and dear to my heart, especially in the fall! Another mainstay (for a good beauty fix!) is The Boars Head Inn and Neroli Spa.

I also feel you would LOVE Scarpa (they recently renovated their space, complete with a gigantic pink velvet couch) for beautiful local jewelry and cute shoes… Amy the owner also has a sweet little pair of corgis who are just the cutest 🙂

Enjoy your time there, it’s looking to be a beautiful weekend! xx

You’re gonna love Charlottesville! Try a Take-it-away sandwich with their house dressing and a Bodos bagel. As good as NYC bagels I swear.

Charlottesville is wonderful-I just moved from there earlier this year. If you have time, go to some of the wineries. Pippin is gorgeous but the wine at other places, such as Jefferson or Blenheim 9owned by Dave Matthews) is even better.
