I am reaaalllly just having a moment with kimonos right now. I bought a couple others but this one was probably the best find so far – it’s vintage from the 1940’s, from Etsy. I love red and pink together, and I love the pattern. (As an aside, Etsy has become one of my favorite places to search for vintage… you definitely have to do a bit of digging but if you know what you are looking for you can do a search and they have so many good things!!) Also a word about these sunglasses. They are the best and a great price! I bought them when I lost my Celine pair, ended up finding the Celines (whew) but still wear these all the time.
In other news, Happy April! Today marks one year of living in Williamsburg for me and I was thinking over the weekend about how much happier I am. I kept telling myself I would move out of my tiny studio eventually, and I kept resigning my lease because it was easier and I was “busy.” It’s so easy to trap yourself in a less than ideal situation (feeling stuck, cough cough). A year later I live closer to most of my friends, am so in love with my neighborhood, have my gym + favorite yoga studio, my little coffee shop where they know my favorite juice and usual order, and an apartment that makes me the happiest. It’s funny too as I’ve literally just finished with decorating (well actually not really I’m still working on some of the art). I’ve definitely taken my time in that department but that’s the way to do it, in my opinion. I have said this before but the worst thing you can do when you decorate is buy everything at once (or from the same place)… it won’t have any character and you’ll get sick of it sooner than you would if you took your time.
Outfit Details:ย Vintage Kimono (similar options here, here, + here) // Splendid Tank // Re/Done Jeans // J.Crew Belt (a million years old but similar here) // Dolce & Gabbana Heels (a few seasons old but love these) // Strathberry Bag // Polaroid Sunglasses // BaubleBar Earrings
I know I know these sandals are amazing and they are old! I am sorry. If you love them as much as I do I highly recommend doing saved searches on eBay and The Real Real. They will come back around…. (that’s how I got my crazy lady sunglasses, in the same matching pattern).
Banana leaves are just everything. I hate wearing things here that are sold out but I also want to show you my personal style and how I dress in my every day life so it’s not always realistic to show you only new stuff. Also these sandals are just everything. My babies. In the meantime, these Sam Edelman sandals are a great price and kind of similar and these slingbacks are fun too!!! Next best thing.

Another thing I wanted to tell you about: I played the BEST board game this weekend – Utter Nonsense. There are two versions – family and adult (of course we played the adult version). It’s kind of like Cards Against Humanity but with acting and funny accents. I don’t remember the last time I laughed so hard. Highly recommend. I put both versions in my Amazon shop!

Loving the kimono trend for spring! It’s so nice how it’s finally time for wearing brighter colours thanks to the warmer weather. ๐

Thanks Charmaine! Hope you had a great weekend.
That kimono is gorgeous! I have the same earrings, but in red. I love how you combined the two patterns of the kimono and shoes! Congrats on the one year in Williamsburg!

Thank you so much Emily! xx
I love vintage pieces! Etsy is one of my favorite online shops. Also, I really love that you wear/rewear old items in your wardrobe on your blog. I actually find it more annoying/disheartening when bloggers wear ONLY new things because it’s so unrealistic. Congrats on a year in your new place!

Aw good, that makes me happy!! xx
I’m a fan of board games so thanks for telling about this one, I’ll check it out. ๐ Also congrats on finding your perfect home in Brooklyn and feeling all accustomed with the area. It makes a world of difference to have your usual spots and friends living nearby.
I’m also 100% into kimonos and I have a very similar one to yours which I just can’t wait to wear.

Thanks Natali! Hope you had a great weekend!
Great outfit. How do you like the Strathberry bag? I love the bar detail and have been looking at them, but I’m trying to decide if they’re worth it ๐
I really love it. The quality is fantastic and I love the shape + the bar.
I found a kimono in TJ Maxx last year, which I still LOVE, for only $8! Haven’t worn it in a while though, but I’m suddenly inspired now!
