The Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic is one of my favorite events of summer and I was so excited to be invited back this year (you can see my post from last year here). I met up with Hallie, Jessica, Julia + her husband Anel, and my good friend Alex in Battery Park around 10:30 and we hopped on the ferry to Liberty State Park for the tournament. Dressed in our polo finest, we made our way to the park (a note for if you go next year… wear comfortable shoes… it’s a twenty minute walk to the park from the ferry. We packed blankets and towels and sat down in the sun with bottles and bottles of rosé.
It made for a decadent day (when we got back to the city, we all met up at B Bar for more food, and more cocktails) and let’s just say that the next day’s Soul Cycle class was rough. But days like those are worth it… it was so much fun!
This little guy is a new favorite. I love him so much! As an added bonus, his little trunk held the flower bouquet that I made in Veuve’s rosé garden.
This is Alex – one of my best friends in the world and frequent +1 to outings such as this. As you can probably tell, she is the most fun. I had begged Lexi to take a few quick outfit snaps; and Alex decided to make a mockery of the affair. I love this photo and had to include it in the post!
(and here is a selfie of Alex and I… and the elephant.) Also, you can finally see my earrings in this photo. I get so many compliments on these bad boys… they are so beautiful and were only $36! I don’t wear big earrings very often but have been reaching for this pair quite a bit… I love ’em.
