Tulum is my happy place.. my paradise. When I first visited {this past October} I fell in complete and utter love. I ranted + raved to all of my girlfriends about how incredible it was and managed to coerce my friend Alex into coming with me a second time. This time around, we stayed at The Papaya Play Project. It came highly recommended to me by my travel-blogger friend Farryn and is like no other place I’ve ever visited.
If you stay at the Papaya Playa, be prepared to rough it {in the most chic sense of the word.} We stayed in a hut perched above the ocean. There were lights, but no actual electric outlets in our room. We had our own bathroom {many of the huts do not} which was separated from the sleeping area by a sheet. Our beds were covered in nets and at night we fell asleep to the sound of the ocean.
On our first day, we did not do much. We were a bit tired {we were in a car by 5am and on a 7am flight.} We changed into our swimsuits and enjoyed a long, leisurely lunch that turned into cocktails and lots of wine. From there, we went home to change and headed to The Hartwood for dinner. Hartwood is kind of the “it” spot right now so we couldn’t get in, but stayed for one drink {the passion fruit drink is one of my all time favorite drinks ever} After our drink, we went to Casa Jaguar which was equally delicious.
PS – see what I packed for Tulum here! I will be doing a travel guide later this week, but know one thing if you go… pack light!

Pretty Pretty! I love how it seems so authentic. How long is the ride from the Cancun airport? I am going to the Ritz in Cancun for my husbands 30th in May and I think we might need to change our reservations to stay in Tulum instead!
