Silver Trench Coat.

A month or so ago, I was still in my binge-rewatching-Gossip Girl phase (For the record that’s now ended, now that all the Fall TV has come back up – I’m feeling much more political, watching Scandal, Designated Survivor, and The Blacklist). I saw this metallic trench and immediately thought of Serena van der Woodsen. I saw it and had to have it… and it was, essentially (way too early but whatever!) the start of my holiday wardrobe shopping. It’s so good. You can wear it now with a more simple ensemble, but how chic will it look with more festive attire? I love a good statement coat and this is such a good one (at a good price, too!)

I really can’t believe it’s already Friday. This week just flew by. I will blame it on being back from my trip… the work week was a bit intense after being away for a bit. I’m really looking forward to a low key weekend. I started reading this book and am hooked… hoping to finish it and start a new one. Today will be a bit intense… work + shoots all morning and speaking on a panel this afternoon. My goal is to finish my work before my panel and meet up with my girlfriends afterward at The Whitney for a little art + red wine. We shall see if I can finish everything… fingers crossed! Hope you have a great weekend!!! xoxo

Hi! This outfit was so stunning I ordered most of the pieces… but I wondered what size trench you bought? I got the UK 38, UK 10, US 6 size because when I ordered, they only had small sizes left. I normally wear a US 6 so I was hoping it wasn’t going to be too small. It’s pretty big! Like, maybe too big. But swapping it for an even smaller size seems weird! I was expecting it to be on the small side.

I should have said this in the post! The trench runs huge! I also got a 6. I have been wearing it open and tying the sash in the back to cinch it up. I was shocked how big it was as Topshop usually runs so tiny!

Oh I will try that! I was wearing it around my house trying to decide and it doesn’t seem too big in the shoulders so I think the four would tug. But so weird! I usually have to size up one or two sizes in TopShop!

Thanks for the reply! I love your blog!

I have the same experience – their stuff is usually tiny!
