Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was really nice although I realized I was a little bit of a recluse and didn’t see anyone besides my photographer (oops!) as I was really busy for most of the weekend, getting my apartment in order – my sister and I are shooting it today for her (and my) blog! It’s going to be an action-packed week over here so I guess it was good that I had lots of introvert time over the weekend.
All about my exciting weekend 😉 On Friday I hit the gym around 8 and then stayed in watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (so cute – it’s really clever and well written). On Saturday I woke up and worked on a bunch of stuff around the apartment, did some blog work, and took a power yoga class. I stayed in again… this time, reading. I have been reading The Year of Magical Thinking and it is tearing me apart inside (so, so sad but so beautifully written) so I took a little break from it to read this thriller. which everyone is raving about. I’m about 40% done with it and cannot put it down!
Yesterday I did more apartment stuff. I wallpapered my bathroom (see it on Instagram stories!!!) met up with Trent to shoot a bunch of stuff for the blog, and got to two yoga classes (I’m not totally insane – one was restorative yin yoga… my hips have been tight and this did the trick!) It was a busy weekend but I am glad I was so productive as today is going to be taken over by the apartment shoot (cannot wait to share more here!!) Hope you guys had a great one! PS – I’ll be back this afternoon with a highly requested post – ideas for sober dates (and some funny / sweet reader stories!)

As I mentioned above, I have been reading The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion. She is one of my favorite authors and her writing (especially when she talks about New York) is just magical. I love her so much and one of my goals for the next year (or maybe two) is to read all of her work. Anyway, I picked this one up and had forgotten what it’s about (it’s a personal memoir about the year after her husband suddenly passed away). It’s just so sad… it’s brought me to tears more than once. I will talk more about it in next month’s reading list but for now, it’s completely destroying me. Just so, so sad.
My sweater is from an affordable brand called Lost + Wander that I just started stalking on Nordstrom. It’s so cozy. Sadly it doesn’t seem to be in stock anymore but I also love this turtleneck and this chunky v-neck which is really similar to the one I have on.
You look lovely as always! ❤️ Pink is such a hard colour to pull off – like you said, it’s so easy to end up like a flamingo! But I think you definitely nailed it, looking so fab and chic with the statement coat! ❤️
