No matter how long I’ve been out of school (and it’s been a while), I still, without fail, get so excited about shopping for “back to school” / Fall clothes. I love my summery dresses + sandals, but there’s something so exciting about that “back to school” season… and shopping for Fall clothes. Boots, sweaters, more substantial pieces. This season, I have quite the shopping list – floaty maxi dresses in rich jewel-tone hues, destroyed (high-waisted) denim, and soft tees that are cut a bit longer. Enter American Eagle Outfitters – they have the absolute cutest stuff right now (at very affordable prices). I love when my friends think I’m wearing some expensive new designer and I can tell them I got it at AEO (as was the case with this maxi dress… it’s on sale for $30 right now!!)

Today I’ve styled two looks from American Eagle Outfitters… a floaty maxi dress, and a more casual look… jeans + a lace-up top.

It’s funny… I had dinner with my friend Ali the other night. She was wearing the cutest off-the-shoulder crop top with a high-waisted wrap maxi skirt. I remarked with how much I loved her outfit and it turns out the whole thing was from AEO. I was excited to learn that I wasn’t the only one with an AEO obsession.

Seriously though, go get this dress. It is so incredibly comfortable and so cute! I’ll be wearing it with tall boots once things cool off. If you aren’t into maxi-dresses, this shorter version is also super cute. Lastly, I also really love this maxi dress. The cut is very sixties, and it reminds me of something Megan Draper would have worn.

I fell in love with this lace-up top the moment I put it on. It is so incredibly soft, it’s cut a bit long (and swingy), and the lace-up detail doesn’t go down too far. It was hard picking a favorite top… This swing tee is awesome (and comes in stripes)! I also fell hard for all of AEO’s kimonos (especially this one) and I love love love this off-the-shoulder bodysuit (I’ve never been a bodysuit girl but I like how easy it makes the whole “tucked-in” thing go…) as it is so cute with all my little skirts.

I paired it with these jeans which are just fantastic (and also a great price). I love the destroyed look but so many ripped jeans are low-rise, which I just don’t do. These are super comfy and come up nice and high.

For a limited time AEO jeans, pants & shorts are BOGO 50% off at AE.com! (Ends August 17th!)

I especially love the dress on you. I love how you paired it with that funky necklace and the cognac bag. Love cognac accessories for summer.

Both of these outfits are amazing, and looks like something that could have come from a Nordstrom post (and would have cost quite a bit more from there!) You look gorgeous, and those jeans are perfect on you!

How do you like your bucket bag? Which leather is it? I’ve had my eye on one for a while. I ordered their saddle bag, but sent it back because I didn’t like the quality.

Sizing in denim is prety true to size though I’d say it runs slightly small like juniors sizing – I sized up in mine, am usually a 6 and got an 8 and they are perfect!

I love both of these looks on you. A departure from your more feminine/girly looks, but I think both of these are fantastic.
