This Week's Good Things 2.1.21
coat // dress // boots

I had a phone call with an old friend last night and he said to me (I’d just taken a bath and was about to hunker down with a book), “Wow, you just have the coziest life.” It was totally in earnest – not sarcastic or making fun of the fact that pandemic me acts ninety, and it made me laugh. It also got me thinking about the things we aspire to. It can be hard to aspire too much these days. I of course aspire to be successful and happy and pay my bills and save for retirement and buy a house and keep Tyrion happy with his fancy things but hadn’t really thought about aspirations of coziness.

And the more I think about it, having a cozy life is up there just as much as having an exciting, fun, educational, good, interesting life. So maybe that’s my 2021 aspiration. To have the coziest life. We can’t do much else so why not?

It’s February. Finally? A brand new week and a brand new month. Did January feel like it was three months long for anyone else? My reading list comes out on Wednesday… I was working on it over the weekend and couldn’t believe that some of the books were from this month, they felt so far away. As I write this, it seems we will be getting a big snow storm here in New York, so I’m all about the cozy life this week. Soups, blankets, books, just hunkering down and staying warm.

This Week’s Good Things, 2.1.21.

I had a great weekend. The best in ages. I did a staycation at The Equinox Hotel with Nordstrom on Saturday night. Honestly, it was so nice. I had underestimated how beneficial even just one night away could be. If you are feeling trapped/stuck, I’ll just say that it’s crazy how one night away in a nice hotel can make you feel so refreshed. I also read a whole book – All Girls, by Emily Layden. My review will be in Wednesday’s blog post but I’d say you can probably skip it… I’d say it was just OK. Not bad but not great.

This week’s list of good things is a good one. An insaaaaanely great smelling body butter, a good cause, an addictive TV show… and more. Enjoy! XO

Molded Matter Body Lotion | This Weeks Good Things 2.1.21

Molded Matter Body Lotion

My massage therapist gave me this body cream for Christmas and WHOA it smells so good. We share an affinity for woodsy “fireplace” scent and this product is just HEAVENLY. It’s super rich and hydrating and the smell reminds me a lot of Le Labo Santal 33. And the formula is divine… made from all natural delicious ingredients… cocoa butter, Shea butter, coconut oil, + essential oils. If you love Le Labo Santal or Maison Louis Marie No. 4 you will LOVE this cream, especially if you have dry skin (I am practically a lizard person).

Equilibria's New Dessert Inspired Flavors | This Week's Good Things 2.1.21

Equilibria’s New Dessert Inspired Flavors

Oh wow, the new (limited edition) Equilibria flavors are SO GOOD. The set has three flavors: peach gelee, strawberry shortcake, and mint chocolate truffle. They are all quite tasty but my favorite is the mint chocolate truffle. It somehow has that same richness that chocolate has. These are the standard drops (not the extra strength which is what I take to help me fall asleep at night)… I’ll usually have half a dropper mid-day or any time I’m feeling stressed or irritable. My code graceatwood will get you 15% off the set.

@translifeline x @folxhealth HRT Care Fund | This Weeks Good Things 2.1.21

@translifeline x @folxhealth HRT Care Fund

This is something that my amazing friend Nina has been working on.  Over the last few months she has been hard at work putting together this care fund to cover access to HRT (hormone replacement therapy) care for trans, nonbinary, and intersex people, with 75% of funds reserved for BIPOC. I made a donation and encourage you to do the same if you are able. And if you or someone you know wants to apply for care, applications open March 1st. Learn more right this way.

Lupin on Netflix

Lupin on Netflix

My parents are on my Netflix account, so oftentimes whatever they are watching will pop up for me. I texted my mom, “what’s Lupin!?” and she immediately replied that her and my dad could not get enough. I started watching, and had to take pains to ration it out because it is SO GOOD. It’s originally in French (I’ve been watching the dubbed version). Years ago, Assane’s father was framed for stealing a beautiful necklace. He killed himself in jail and now Assane is all grown up, a talented thief (and quite easy on the eyes I’ll add) and is out to clear his father’s name. This show is so good. There are only five episodes so you will want to spread them out as a treat. I will warn you that it ends with a total cliffhanger. Part two can’t come soon enough!

If you loved White Collar or the Ocean’s movies you will love this show. It also helps that it’s set in Paris; you know I am all about getting my wanderlust in on the couch. Also, not the point (nor something I usually even really notice) but the men’s fashion is gooooood…. Assane’s wardrobe is incredible.

Red Our Place Pan | This Weeks Good Things 2.1.21

Red Our Place Pan

I am so mad (not really) because I love my Our Place pan SO MUCH and now it comes in the most perfect spicy red color but I am obviously not going to buy a second one! So if YOU haven’t bought this pan yet, might I recommend the new “red hot” color? She’s a beaut. (Also, if you haven’t read my review of the Our Place pan, here it is!!!!) It is my absolute favorite pan.
