This Fall’s Best Jewelry Trends
Jewelry is my biggest material love and greatest weakness, shopping-wise. It is something I allow myself to splurge on (for more on that, check out my guide to building a fine jewelry collection). Today’s post is less about those splurges and more about this season’s big trends. I’m so happy that none of this season’s jewelry trends feel hard to wear or over the top. They’re all fairly classic! In my opinion, the two things to invest in this season are something sculptural and something carnelian. If I were to choose a third, I’d say a pendant on a leather cord (ideally, a sculptural pendant on a leather cord; two birds, one stone!).
As for metals, silver is a big thing, but it looks terrible on me! My advice is to go with whatever metal looks best with your skin tone. Yellow gold, silver, rose gold… it doesn’t really matter. In this case, it is more about the shapes than the metal. (This is a huge relief to me. Last year, it looked like silver was becoming the big thing, and it just doesn’t flatter my skin tone.)
Since this roundup is focusing more on trendy pieces, we went for a more accessible price point. That being said, two fine jewelry brands I am watching very closely right now are Marie Lichtenberg (how cool is this necklace!?) and Jenna Blake (this corded pendant is amazing!). Speaking of corded pendants, here are three last-minute adds: I really love this (ordered it last night!), this, and this.
P.S. Don’t forget about The RealReal! A search for “carnelian” yields some amazing results… like these gumball studs. Same goes for “cord pendant.”
