I have to laugh a little because while Carly and I have a lot of overlap at times, our wish lists could not be more different. Mine is all color and chaos and hers is all sleek neutrals. But that’s one of the reasons I love having her perspective. A neutral foil to my color loving heart.
We often agree on basics, and we both really thrive when the temperature dips a bit, that’s where we get to have a little bit of fun and be creative. Layers. Texture. Leathers and suede. I am trying my best not to wish the warm weather away, but the fashion makes it hard!

My picks
I have said this before but I kind of have all the classics: great jeans, classic boots, etc. The pieces I am shopping for are meant to accent those things. As always, my list is high on Dries (this coat, this scarf!). A feather brooch that will make even jeans and a tee feel special. Jennifer Behr made my fave drop earrings in a dreamy lapis (I already own them in several colors including lapis and malachite). And of course, one of fall’s biggest trends: purple. I am so sad that these Alaia flats sold out in my size; I really want this Reformation top (I own it in red and it’s gorgeous!).

While I had fun exploring some unexpected colors in my wardrobe this summer (hello yellow?!), I must admit that I am really looking forward to my neutral dressing that comes with the colder weather. I love adding in a pop with a beanie or a bag, but I feel most at home in hues of beige, black, and white. Admittedly, I already pulled the trigger on these J.Crew flats – but how I could I not? They’re Phoebe Philo for a fraction of the price!
