A few years back, I was lucky enough to get to attend the Kentucky Derby. I had the most fun. Even though I am more or less an indoor kid who does not care about sports, I had fun betting on ponies and getting into the Derby mood. I loved getting dressed up, I loved wearing a fascinator, and of course, I loved all the cocktails and snacks.
Today, in partnership with Finlandia Vodka, I am excited to share a delightful Derby day Oaks Lily cocktail recipe (though it’s so good you will want to make it all year round!) Are you watching the Derby next weekend? I highly recommend making this!
Meet the Oaks Lily, the signature drink of the Kentucky Oaks. It’s not too sweet, and just delicious!
Oaks Lily Cocktail Recipe:
- 3 parts cranberry juice
- 1 part sour mix (or fresh lime juice, which is what I used)
- 1/4 part Triple Sec
- 1 part FINLANDIA vodka
combine all ingredients over ice and garnish with a lime wedge!

You’re a week early. The Derby isn’t until May 7. It’s still April this Saturday. ๐
Wow, I am losing my mind. Thank you!
I live in Louisville, Kentucky, so this post is just perfect! My sister is throwing me a Derby-themed bridal shower this Sunday, and then my fiance and I will be at the track next Saturday for Derby. Such a fun week to be a Louisvillian! Thanks for sharing the recipe, Grace… Oaks Lillies are the best!!
Oh I love that, what a fun idea!!!!
Those cocktail glasses are amazing! Also, I’m sure you’ve linked to it before but would you mind providing details on that sundress? It looks great on you ๐
Thank you! The glass is from Fferrone! The dress is unfortunately old, but the brand is Reformation. You may be able to find it on TheRealReal or Poshmark. It is a favorite of mine!
Thank you! I found the dress on ebay ๐
Looks yummy! Cant wait to try. Will grab some FINLANDIA vodka this weekend and give it a go ๐ Thank you for sharing Xx
Let me know how it goes!!
What? No way will I be drinking vodka on derby day! Bring on the mint juleps!
Haha! You can’t go wrong with either. I am more of a vodka girl personally but they’re both great. xo
