The Black Blazer at Every Price

The-Black-Blazer---Fall

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.  If you splurge on one key item this Fall, it should be a great blazer.  I invested in this one (also here) earlier during the summer and love it so much.  (If you need proof, you’ve seen me wear it here, here, here, and here already.)  The long clean lines lengthen and slim my silhouette, and the fabric is this amazing jersey knit that feels fluid and luxe.

Here are a few options I love:

  1. Helmut Lang (mine)
  2. MANGO (the cut is spot on, especially for the price!)
  3. Stefanel (I also really like the leather sleeves on this one but it is way out of my price range right now!)
  4. Dorothy Perkins (love the quilted texture)

I certainly agree that a black blazer is really important. I have a couple of them that I usually wear for job interviews or special events at work. I need to wear them more in the fall and winter for other occasions! I love anytime you wear one. It’s a great look.

Do you find yourself concerned with blacks not matching when buying just the blazer?

Grace — Does the one you have have any sort of shoulder pads? I love the cut, but as a former swimmer, I don’t need the help and often run into looking like a line backer 😉

It does not!!! (Thankfully – I always take the shoulder pads out of my clothing, I don’t want to look any bigger!)

I highly recommend saving up for the leather-sleeved Helmut Lang! That was my splurge this season and I wear it with pretty much everything. Looks awesome with the sleeves runched.
