The {best} Linen Tee.

best-tee-shirt

I am in constant pursuit of the best slouchy v-neck tee. For ages, I lived in American Apparel’s unisex Tri-Blend V-neck. I have so many of them… and in multiple sizes… extra-small for a fitted look with a pencil skirt; small for everyday wear, and medium for a slouchier look to pair with legging or skinny jeans {and to sleep in, too, if we’re being honest.} It’s a great shirt, but I’m always looking for the next best thing, and this winter, I moved onto Madewell’s Slub v-neck… buying it in three colors. {I also like the updated version a lot, but not quiiiite as much.} That shirt was – and still is my everything… but again, I’m always on the hunt for a new favorite.

Pardon the rambling. I get passionate when it comes to talking t-shirts. Yesterday afternoon, I was on the train home from my sister’s bridal shower and a cute girl sat down in front of me… wearing the best tee. It was a lighter gray than the ones I have, long + slouchy in all the right places, but linen — so it still had a nice heft to it. I NEEDED TO KNOW ABOUT IT. I proceeded to elbow my sister and cousin, ogling the shirt, begging them to ask her where she got it… and finally working up the nerve {I’m actually quite shy with new people} to ask where she got it, assuming it would be Alexander Wang or something fancy. Alas, it was the best news ever. The perfect t-shirt was Zara… bought the day before, in a size larger than she usually wore it. I ran home and tracked it down {here!}, immediately ordering two of them – in a size large so that it will be extra slouchy and cozy. It comes in a bazillion other colors {even a cheery yellow} but I wanted to try the gray before committing to more. But yes, the perfect t-shirt can be found right this way at Zara – and to the cute girl on the train, thank you!

I’m always on the hunt for tees like these! I recently learned to buy in a size up for that extra slouch and I’m so thankful that I did 🙂

Have you ever tried James Perse v-necks? I also size up and even after many…many…many… washings, the shirts hold up beautifully and get more soft with each wear. Not the cheapest (I always hunt for them on sale), but a worthwhile basic T-shirt investment! XO, Stella

this is good to know! I love my Madewell slub v-necks, but I have a long torso and sometimes they look short on me, running to Zara soon!

LOVE that grey color, and this style is perfect (I also have tons of tees; really liking Old Navy’s, too!). Everyone thanks you for asking the girl. 🙂

This shirt looks perfect! Wondering if you’ve washed it yet – did it shrink a lot?

I haven’t washed it, and am not sure if I’ll dry clean instead… or line dry — def don’t want it to shrink!
