Here’s a little confession. Sometimes, as bloggers, we feel all this pressure to make sure our outfits are super interesting and exciting. And those casual outfits that you live in don’t always feel like they are good enough or “blog-worthy.” But that’s rather silly. The best part of blogs, after all… is that they’re real… an accurate depiction of what the blogger actually wore that day. While I do admit that I shoot a few outfit posts at a time (it’s just easier as I have a pro take my photo… I can’t exactly just have her follow me around) what I wear here is always actually something that I wore that week or have in the queue to wear later in the week.
But here’s the thing… my style is getting a lot more casual. Now that I’m freelancing, there are days where I am in sweats… all day long. I get dressed up at least two or three days a week for meetings and events, but guys… cut-offs are a wonderful thing. I’ll always love girly dresses + florals, but the outfit in today’s post is one that I could easily wear every. single. day. I actually had to order a second pair of these shorts as I’ve worn them so much… they keep getting stretched out and then I get (seriously) sad when they’re in the wash.
Also, these slides. They look a lot like shower sandals but are actually quilted napa leather. So much better, and so comfy. L-O-V-E. They’re also on sale right now… they come in white, too!
Outfit Details: River Island Jacket (c/o — now on sale!) // Tibi Camisole // Rag & Bone Shorts // Matt Bernson Sandals (c/o — also on sale!) // Mansur Gavriel Clutch // all jewelry borrowed from Vrrai + Oro.
I also want to talk a little bit about my delicate jewels. Aren’t they just the prettiest? They’re all borrowed (except for the earrings which were a generous gift) from Vrai and Oro. Have you heard of them? I’m a huge fan and wrote about them ages ago, but I think of Vrai and Oro as the Everlane of fine jewelry. Amazing, beautiful basic pieces that you will want to wear every single day… without any of the markup. All of their products are made here in the US and they only use solid 14k gold + solitaire diamonds above SI2 quality.
In the photo above, I’m wearing their gold bracelet on my hand.. with the thick stacking ring as a midi ring + the stacked diamond line ring on my pinky.
Here, I layered Vrai & Oro’s Solitaire Pendant (only $260) with their diamond line pendant. I’m wearing their diamond line drop earrings as well.

I enjoy seeing the occasional casual outfit, and I like the jacket and clutch. I have a similar clutch from Fossil, that I love and got on sale for like $5! Love the jewelry.
LOVE This look on you!

This is absolutely a blog-worthy look! Sometimes the everyday, casual looks are my favorites on people. They’re honest and easy. Love it!

Finally pulled the trigger on these shorts! I’m just kicking myself that I forgot to do it last week because I could really use them for this weekend haha. I hope you have a great one 🙂
love this post! thank you for your honest thoughts about “blog-worthy” outfits vs. “everyday” outfits. i would love to see more balance between these two, actually, because that’s reality! and “everyday” outfits are just as cute IMO. As a reader, sometimes i get this made up pressure in my head when i see every blogger i follow looks so “perfectly” dressed up every.single.day. like that i’m a slob or something lol. also, i’m obsessed with Vrai & Oro (have two of their necklaces!) and i’m wondering which of their bracelets are you wearing??
I love this simple look! And your hair looks great here. 🙂

I love this post, your outfit looks so great.
I also really love your hair in this post!
There’s nothing wrong with being basic in my opinion! I totally get what you mean though. It’s nice to take a step back and just feel comfortable an confident in what you’re wearing.

Thanks for introducing us to this jewelry line! I have been searching for gold jewelry with small diamonds that won’t break the bank and this is exactly what I was looking for! I asked my husband for one of their pieces for my birthday 🙂
Adore! Cheers to casual/everyday style! x
