I’ve always been a big fan of brunch. Favorite weekend meal, hands down. (I joke that brunch is my favorite sport… because with my friends, trust me… it is!) And with brunch comes the cocktails (the best part!) While I love a mimosa or a Bellini as much as the next person, I’ve had a new favorite cocktail this summer… the Aperol Spritz.
I feel a little more sophisticated ordering something different, and the combination of the zesty orange flavor + bubbles is so refreshing! Aperol tastes and smells very similar to Campari, except it has half the alcohol content and is less bitter. The drink is very popular in Italy, but I like to think it’s gaining steam over here as well… I’ve been seeing it on a lot more brunch menus lately! It’s fun to make at home though for a more leisurely brunch (or afternoon cocktail) with friends.
Lucky for us, it’s as easy to prepare as 3-2-1…
Materials:
- 3 parts Prosecco {I used Cinzano}
- 2 parts Aperol
- 1 splash of sparkling Water {I used Pellegrino}
- Mint, (optional) for garnish.
First, add one part (about 1/3 of the glass) Aperol.
Add two parts Cinzano Prosecco…
Top off with a splash of Sparkling Water.
And voila… garnish with a sprig of mint!
Thank you to Aperol for sponsoring this post.
I am a huge brunch lover as well! This drink looks pretty delish.
Great post! I love aperol!

This looks so refreshing! I love the addition of mint! We have mint growing in our herb garden so I’m definitely going to give this a try 🙂
