Tees in The Trap.

Tees-in-the-Trap-T-Shirts

I stumbled upon this line of t-shirts last week and couldn’t resist sharing them here. As you probably know by now, I can’t resist a good graphic tee, and these are just too fun. As I perused the site, it was as if they’d designed t-shirts with each of my girlfriends in mind… the site is full of the stuff my friends and I say to each other and I found myself giggling to myself at my desk. Obsessed. I love wearing mine with destroyed cut-offs… but it’s also fun to glam it up a bit with a big statement necklace+ a cute mini skirt.

Oh my gosh love these! Too funny! I love the classic, ‘I woke up like this’ but the ‘Beyonce taught me’ is perfection!

“Thug Wife?” “A lil’ Bougie?” Girl. You are none of those. I guess these shirts are for you to wear more ironically than because you actually relate to them? Other than the Bey ones because those are cute & everyone loves Beyonce. But like… do you really understand the meaning behind ‘bougie’ the way it’s used on the shirt and say that with your friends? Or the ‘nasty+rude’ reference… or the whole bunch of other phrases? I don’t want to make assumptions because like… maybe you do, but considering these tees are heavily inspired by the Hip-Hop/Black Pop Culture community, its kind of funny.

Haha, I guess it is more ironically… but perhaps hip hop culture is infiltrating itself more into mainstream culture as most of these terms are now things you find on Urban Dictionary (something I live for – I get their word of the day emails.) but yes, we do say “bougie” all the time… but more in a way like “Oh man – you bought another diptyque candle? So bougie…” that sort of thing.

What size did you get? This unisex sizing has me all confused. Does it have a feminine fit or a loose fitting sports/workout shirt?

I got a small in the Unisex and a Large in the womens’. The unisex runs big and the womens runs very small!
