If there was one thing I noticed most in Paris, it was all of the gorgeous suede pieces I saw! I felt very on trend because I already had this Sezane jacket (it is a favorite), but during the trip, the brand also gave me this one with a drawstring tie. They are both gorgeous, but if I were to choose a favorite, it would be my original shirt jacket, simply because it’s a little lighter. If I were still in New York, I might feel differently. I also packed this suede dress for my trip. Perfect layered over a turtleneck!
It was the first time in a while that I felt like I had packed appropriately. Remember Venice? That was a bit of a disaster, ha ha. Regardless, I have suede on the brain in a big way, so today I wanted to share a few more suede pieces I’m loving!
Suede Staples

Jackets
A suede jacket is probably the most obvious thing. Wear it with denim and pants, over your dresses, etc. A must, IMO. This Sezane jacket was my gateway into suede. It’s perfect. I like that it has a nice, long, loose shape and isn’t too thick, which makes it great for layering. For something similar but a little sleeker and more minimal, I love this Theory menswear shirt!
Carly sent me this girl’s cute TikTok, and how amazing is the Madewell jacket she is wearing? When it went on sale for 30% off, we both bought it earlier this week. I justified it by saying that it is more like a cardigan. This Zara one is also amazing. (Not suede, but had to flag: Madewell also made a leather version of that jacket. Gorge!).
For something more substantial (cold-weather friends!), try this suede trench coat!

Dresses
I love this Tuckernuck mini. Similar to the Sezane one I’m wearing above, it’s great layered over a turtleneck. While I have you, buy this turtleneck bodysuit! It’s the perfect layering piece. I also love the idea of going full on with a longer suede dress like this one.
Shorts + Pants
My friend Alex is a stylist, and I have been bothering her a lot lately. I had a conundrum with a trendier Loewe top I bought last year (but I always feel stupid when I try to style it and she recommended these Frankie Shop shorts. They are fab, but they run very, very small. I sized up to a large, but the large was too small, so I exchanged them for the XL (on their way to me now). We’ll see if that works, but in the meantime, I’m on a mission to find cute suede shorts. I think they’ll also look really cute with a red/orange sweater like this one.
These La Ligne Pants are gorgeous as well. I think suede pants may be too hot for Charleston, but again, if I still lived in New York, I would be all over a pair!

Boots and Shoes
- These Loeffler Randall boots are a dream. I have them and love them. They are incredibly comfortable and they’re just beautiful! This shorter pair is also very chic.
- These high front pumps are like a boot/pump hybrid.
- Beautiful mules from the Alex Mill x Margaux collab. Or you could do a little heel like this pair from Dôen.
- Classic high boots from J.Crew.
- Thse ballet sneakers are so fun, with just a touch of suede accents.
Bags
- This Bode tote is so cool. It feels very unique and special.
- Love this little green tote!
- Tiny and adorable: This Madewell wristlet.
- This Tory Burch bag has been a reader favorite.
- This larger shopper is gorgeous and a great price.
