Lately, I have been drawn to the idea of wearing something super structured and fitted up top paired with something silky and flowy on the bottom. It feels tailored and polished without venturing into formal and/or office-wear territory. I also really love this color combination. Green and brown are good together.
And let’s be honest: I love flowy silk pants, but they can look like pajamas if you aren’t careful. Pairing them with something more fitted is the perfect foil.

Structured tops
I really love a fitted vest top. I have found that the key to most of these tops (not with Madewell, Posse, or J.Crew) is to go up one size. I sized up in the Aligne top I’m wearing above and the fit is perfect. I love a longer top, but you could also do a fitted blazer (this one is literally perfect), or something boxier like this, this, or this.

Soft Pants
Honestly, any outfit that allows me to wear elastic pants (and still be considered chic/fashion-forward) is a win in my book. My first foray into soft pants like this was with The Row’s Gala Pants. A big splurge but something I can put on and feel great in, no matter what. Luckily there are lots of options, across all price points. Here are some favorites.
