Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick

My friend Amy does PR for Stila Cosmetics, amongst other brands and always says that in another life, she was a beauty editor. And she’s right. She knows her products and never steers me wrong. I tell her that she is my lipstick spirit guide. I am lucky and often spoiled by my friends who work in PR; but Amy always sends me the most thoughtfully chosen products. She was the one who got me hooked a while back on Stila’s Color Balm Lipsticks. Those are fantastic… Valentina is my everything. It’s the perfect shiny, red-orange lipstick;  and is so hydrating/smells insanely delicious… like a creamsicle. Every time I wear it, I get a compliment.

Somehow it came up that I had not tried Stila’s liquid lipsticks. They aren’t new or anything, but they have a bit of a cult following. So in honor of my new blonde hair, Amy sent me the liquid lipstick in Carina and surprise… I’m hooked. The formula goes on like a gloss, with a velvety formula and a sponge tip applicator – but then dries to a matte finish. And once it is on, it is not coming off {unless you want it to, in which case I recommend using eye makeup remover.} I wore it during a conference and it really did stay on all day… from 8am until 5pm. The only drawback is that it did make my lips a little bit dry so I topped it off with lip balm which just gave my lips a little more shine + hydration… and the color still stayed on.

The color is also pretty beautiful. It’s not quite a coral, not quite a red… and not a red-orange… but somewhere in the middle. Maybe a bit more pink than a red-orange? Whatever it is, its really beautiful on and if you have blonde hair, I definitely recommend trying it!
