This past Sunday, my mom was in town… so rather than staying in my usual bubble (I’ve developed a bad habit and rarely leave a give-or-take ten block radius from my apartment most weekends) we actually got out and explored the city a bit! A highlight for me was popping into Steven Alan‘s new home store. I’ve loved the brand for a long time but didn’t realize they even had a home store until my sister made me aware. It was kind of like stepping into the home of that friend who always has really trendy/cool/unique decor but never seems to be trying to hard. I wanted to move in.
Also very cool… Amy Merrick (you should probably be following her on instagram) was on hand, selling gorgeous little house plants and floral arrangements. She gave me some tips for caring for my (TLC-deprived) fig tree. It was pretty cool getting to meet her.
These “cotton bowls” by Doug Johnston were one of my personal favorites.
I ended up buying two of these delicious smelling mason jar candles by Good (a Brooklyn-based brand) in the fig scent… one for me, and one for my girlfriend who just moved into a new apartment.
I love Steven Alan. It really is a an awesome store that is curated just right, great clothes, amazing accessories and sweet little dainty jewelry. So when I just read in your post that there is a home store, I was thrilled. Can’t wait to check it out. The Steven Alan near me in Chelsea is an Annex store, so they have a couple of home items. But so pumped to see the whole home store.
Thanks for sharing!
