{DIY Necklaces on The Everygirl}
{DIY Bracelets… read on!}
Today’s DIY is a fun little collaboration with my friends at The Everygirl! I created a necklace for them (the tutorial is over on their site… right here), and a bracelet over here to match it. I love rope jewelry. Always have, always will. It isn’t quite as trendy as some of the other projects I feature here, but it is very me… and reminds me of home (Cape Cod). The project was really inspired by this pin. I was unable to source patterned rope, so I settled for this luscious felt rope (so soft)! Separately, if you know where to buy great patterned rope, I’d love to hear it in the comments section!
Materials/Where to Buy: Rope (about 5-6″) // Felt Rope (about 3-4”) // Large endcaps 12x16mm (2) // Medium Barrel end caps 6mm (4) // Lobster Clasp // Jump Rings (5) // Sharp Scissors – I got my gold ones here // E6000 Glue // Kebab Stick (not pictured) // Pliers (not pictured)
Start by trimming your felt rope.
Using the kebab stick, apply a drop of glue to each large endcap, and stuff the rope ends into it.
Trim your rope into two pieces, each 2-3″ long.
Stuff the ends (using glue + your kebab stick) into the smaller endcaps. Allow everything to sit and dry for an hour or two.
Link the three pieces together using jump rings.
Add a clasp to one side and a jump ring to the other, and you’re done!
Don’t forget to pop over to The Everygirl to learn how to make the necklace!

I love the necklaces! What a fun nautical accent to any outfit!
Love these and their pop of Pink! So cute!
This is so darling! I love that you went with a nice, simple design. As much fun as bold, statement, trendy jewelry is – sometimes it’s nice to go back to basics 🙂
Super fun!
Just found this site that has some pretty rope options…

So cute! I’ve never seen felt rope before.
I really love how this turned out. I love self-made jewelry. It’s always unique and very personal.
For rope try making it with kumihimo braiding.
