Spring Shopping at Banana Republic… (Plus a Great Deal!)

Over the years, I’ve found myself becoming more and more disenchanted with Banana Republic… heading to J.Crew or shopping more and more at it’s sister stores (Gap & Old Navy.)  My rationale? For what you get, their quality just hasn’t been that great.
This Spring though, it seems like they’ve finally stepped things up a notch. First of all, their jewelry collection is fab (though it doesn’t quite rival J.Crew’s collab with Fenton Fallon.) In particular, I love the Imperial Necklace (pictured below.) It’s $68.00 and could easily be Dannijo.
Secondly, they have some amazing cardigans.  I love the slubby open cardigan and the cotton cashmere skinny cardigan.  Both are super-slimming, and super soft!  For a splurge, I also love the silk habotai panel cardigan.  Perfect over any summer dress and looks more like something you’d find at a one of a kind boutique than from little old Banana Republic.
But what I’m probably loving the most are their safari-inspired pieces. Banana Republic’s heritage is in safari gear (go back 30, 40 years ago before Gap bought them,) so this is a natural for them. I recently picked up a crisp white safari shirt and a tan “crinkle” shirtdress. They had a fabulous chambray safari shirt but I waited too long and now its only available in size XL.

On a separate note, I love that they launched a new section, Customer Favorites.  This section showcases their top rated styles – and the customer reviews take some of the guess work out of online shopping.
