I am having a tough week and it is only Tuesday. Oof. Last night both my computer and my modem broke. Besides that, I’ve just been feeling a little bit blue – lonely and sad. When things get hard I remind myself of this. Work hard, and be nice to people. It’s a simple mantra and sounds a little bit insane but lately I have found myself just repeating these words to myself over and over again. Life won’t always be easy but I honestly believe that you do the right thing, if you work hard, and are nice to people, everything will work itself out.
I’ve been in the sample place this week and I have to agree with you on this one too. Being nice to others and doing your best will get you far in the end. Sending good vibes your way xx
I really hope that things look up for you soon Grace. We all fall onto difficult times now and then. It can also be frustrating to see undeserving people get ahead or bad things happen to good people. But I also believe that there is justice somewhere and good people will be rewarded in some way. Mo matter what, we are in control of our own actions and we may as well go through life with a smile (and maybe some red velvet cake).

We all have ups and downs and lonely patches… and electronics breaking is the worst most frustrating thing ever! Hope you feel better.

You are such a sweet & good person-keep your chin up! Good things coming your way, I’m sure, and I’m sending lots of positive vibes. Hope to see you soon!
I used this quote in a print I made myself, and have it hung above my couch! Perfect mantra.

I can totally relate to what you’re feeling. Thank you for posting this, and I’m sending you well wishes for the week.
you just make me smile since I have rough day today…
sorry to hear that, grace. when i went through a break up someone gave me the advice to stop thinking so far ahead. she said tell yourself, “i can make it through this day and if that seems like too much to handle at that moment say, i can make it through this hour.” it sounds so simple but if i gave myself a task for an hour at a time before i knew it my crappy day was over!
This is so so true. Take it one day or one hour at a time – great advice. I’m going through a really rough patch right now too. Remember to “take gentle care of yourself”, don’t be too hard in yourself and remember that it will eventually get better, and you’re never alone.
I love this advice, so much. Thank you!
Yes! I love that quote. It is really true. you get what you give, so give lots of love!
Hope your day gets better!

Sending lots of love and well-wishes your way, Grace! You’ve always been one of my favorite bloggers–so beautiful inside and out! I can echo what Liz said above–don’t worry about how you’re going to get through the rest of the year…or the rest of the month…or even the rest of the week. Just focus on getting through today.
There’s a Bible verse I’ve always liked along those lines: “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” (Matthew 6:34) Actually, the whole chapter (Matthew 6) is great along those lines. (Sorry, my inner Sunday School teacher is coming out!)
Keep your chin up! And pet your cat! xoxo Tierney
I can totally relate to days like these. I feel like it also comes a little with the new season. I’m much more likely to feel melancholic in fall and winter. Anyways I really like your quote (more people should use it as a mantra) and I’m sending you a big hug all the way from Austria. 🙂

Amen! It may seem like doing this daily doesn’t pay off, but it does. Good things happen to good people who work hard 🙂
I’ve never commented before, but this is exactly what I needed to hear tonight after having a long long week myself. Thank you so much for sharing it!
Keep your head up. You may not realize this, but now is the golden moment that you grow into something bigger and better.
I can also relate to how you are feeling. I’m desperately trying to find a job, and I am just down about it. I need to find some good positive words to keep me going and help me have a better attitude.
I am so over this week and next week already.
Love the quote. Sorry to hear your week is not going well… but the good thing about it only being tuesday is that you have the rest of the week to turn it around. BTW, I’m loving your new blog design. So chic! The logo is fab too.
xxo
I always tell myself the week is over after Monday. Tuesday is Tuesday, Wednesday is half way through, Thursday is practically the weekend and Friday…well who cares! The week will for sure turn around…and if for some reason it doesn’t just get on a plane + come play in Dallas! p.s. loving the new design! just gorgeous! xx
LOVE the new design of the blog! Very cool and elegant.
