Remember when I told you about SK-II’s pop-up studio {here?} Well, last week I headed down to Soho {468 Broome Street} to experience it firsthand. I have to admit, the timing could have been a little bit better. I had just gotten back from Tulum and my face was in a special state {I had a peeling sunburn.} I was ashamed but figured at least I’d get an honest evaluation.
I sat down at the Beauty Imaging System station with a representative from the brand who asked me about my skin concerns. Besides the fact that my forehead was peeling off, I said premature wrinkles + aging and the little bits of redness on my cheeks. We then got down to business. Basically they press the beauty imaging system to the side of your face and it takes a high-tech picture of your face.
After the beauty imaging system takes a picture, it analyzes your skin – using SK-II’s five dimensions {wrinkle resilience, refined texture, radiance, firmness and even skin tone.} All in all, I did pretty well except for texture {duh} but I was really excited when she told me that the true age of my skin was 23! Not bad for this 32 year old lady! I received a report card and product recommendations {she recommended the facial treatment essence and the refining moisturizer.}
After my analysis, they gifted me a bottle of the famous facial treatment essence. I’ve been using it for the past week {morning + night you pat it into your face after cleansing and before moisturizing} and my skin has never looked better. I was shocked by how quickly it worked — almost immediately, I noticed a difference. Mostly in tone but also in firmness. I’d say I’m well on my way to Cate Blanchett, translucent skin. Or one can dream, at least!

I really don’t know if there are two better spokesmen than Cate Blanchett and Kate Bosworth! Well, maybe Lupita Nyong’o because that woman’s skin is perfect! Glad to hear your skin is so young.
