Santa Barbara Snaps

I often think that I was supposed to have been born in California but somehow ended up in New England.  I mean, the beachy, laid-back (at least in summer) lifestyle of the Cape is actually very similar to many of the places I’ve visited in CA, but visiting CA always leaves me feeling rested, happy, and at peace.  If I didn’t have any responsibilities (or friends or family) I’d probably move to Venice or Santa Barbara, live in a little hut by the ocean, and make jewelry all day by the beach.  I know that NY’ers aren’t supposed to love CA (or gush about it) this much, but I can’t help it… it’s kind of like a little home away from home to me.

This past week, I was in LA for work meetings on Thurs + Fri, and then we visited my guy’s mother in Santa Barbara.  Heaven.  I always say that it’s my second favorite place on Earth (besides Cape Cod, of course).  We got in some time by the pool, went to my two favorite SB restaurants (The Boathouse + San Ysidro Ranch).  It goes without saying… I did not want to come home!

I went to Santa Barbara last summer for a wedding. It was the first time I had ever been and I didn’t realize what I was missing! I can’t believe I lived in San Diego for 5 yrs and didn’t go to SB every weekend. It’s so gorgeous and FUN! Great pics. xo
