Recipe: Sparkling Sangria.

Sparkling-Sangria-1

Sangria is one of those things that seems hard/intimidating, but it is not. At all. Not even a little bit. I whipped this one up using my favorite sparkling wine in under ten minutes. If you can cut fruit, you can make this and impress all your friends. The key is remembering this one thing: For every bottle of wine you use, add 1/2 cup brandy or cognac, 1/4 cup Orange Liquor, and 1/8 cup sugar. {I remember this by 1/2, 1/4, 1/8… and then going in alphabetical order… B, O, S… but that might sound a little weird.} Once you have that memorized, you are golden. No matter what you do, you it becomes impossible to miss. Add as much fruit as you’d like and let it chill in the fridge. Done and done.

I make mine with Stirrings Triple Sec, Gia Coppola Frizzante, and Gautier Cognac.

Mix the three liquids together and add the sugar. Stir the sugar til it dissolves.

Cut up your fruit. I love mine with lots of fruit. I use one orange, one peach, one lemon, and a pint of raspberries for every bottle of wine. It’s a lot but I like to snack on the boozy fruit too.

I decided while I was away on vacation last week that this is going to be the summer of sangria!! I am so happy you did this post though, because there seems to be a million recipes out there, all very different from each other, so I love how you broke it down here! I took advantage of your incredibly cheap booze prices in the states while I was there and brought a big bottle of brandy home with me so I’m all set for the summer! 😉
