This dress is quite possibly a little bit too young for me but I also swore I’d never be one of those women who says things like that. Wear what you want – if it makes you happy, go for it. That’s really important to me to convey to you here in this space – personal style is a personal thing and my personal take is that we should all wear the things that make us FEEL our best. Because when you feel your best you are happy, you radiate from within, and naturally just look your best. It’s like the Audrey Hepburn quote… “happiest girls are the prettiest girls.”
So yeah, follow trends if you want, dress for your body type (whatever that even means) if you want, but really… wear what makes you happy! Whether that means wearing all black from head to toe or crazy rainbow sequins, do that! And rainbow sequin stripes? YES please. This is not the first rainbow sequin dress I own and it probably won’t be the last.
PS – there’s a new episode of Bad on Paper in iTunes for you – we’re getting nostalgic for high school today! Also, I need your book recommendations (pretty please, leave ’em on this post!).

Thank you Charmaine! xx
Yes to wearing things that make you happy and that you feel comfortable in! I just did the biggest closet clean out of my life (my friend literally came over and said, βJess, where are all your clothes?!β) and aside from focusing on buying quality over quantity, this is another big thing Iβm thinking of when making new purchases. You look so pretty! Hope you had the best birthday week celebrations! π
Thank you so much Jess. And laughing as I am doing a closet cleanout collab with a brand and just had to take photos of my closet and am just sitting here wondering how I GOT so many clothes. Oy.
Such a cute outfit! Where is your ring from? Love it!!
It’s a stack of rings from A. Jaffe!! The best <3 https://www.ajaffe.com/fine-jewelry/stackable-rings
Love the dress and you are NOT too old. You are following the age-old rule: boobs OR legs. Also you kept everything else simple and classic. You styled it perfectly-that’s why we keep coming back ;).
Haha, thank you! I agree though – not one for style rules but definitely always adhere to the boobs or legs thing π
Thanks for the nice comment!!!
10000% agree that what looks best on you is what makes you happy! You look so fun & cute in this dress π
Sidenote: in a past BOP episode you mentioned your mom was going to give you some tips on keeping plants alive… if you would ever be interested in doing a post with these tips (or have your mom do a guest post!) it would be soo appreciated!
Hahah it’s so specific to the plants she gave me (and I’m terrible, I don’t remember the names of the plants. Mainly, it involves opening my curtains so that the plants get enough light and watering the big one once a week and the littler ones twice a week.
Living for this dress on you!
Thanks friend!!!
You are so wrong! This dress is so you and you look so happy wearing it.
Thank you so much!
I personally love this dress on you! So fun, Grace!

Thank you so much Merritt!! Can’t wait to see you in a couple weeks!
You are the perfect age to wear the rainbow stripe dress. It looks great on you!
thank you so much!
This dress is perfect for you (and no, you’re not too old for it)! I think you’re rocking it! I love the colors of the stripes and how you paired it with tights and ankle boots. I’m also a big fan of long sleeved short dresses. That silhouette is really flattering.
