Happy Monday, friends! How was the weekend? I actually completely forgot that this was a long weekend (that can happen when you work for yourself haha… oops!) so I’m working today as I scheduled a shoot and a few other things but I hope that you aren’t doing the same! Mine was really nice. I stayed in and watched Battle of the Sexes on Friday night (it was so good – highly recommend!!!), and on Saturday I met my friend Dara for yoga at Sky Ting. I spent the rest of the day reading and relaxing (I started this book and love it so far – your DM’s were spot on!) and that night had a fun dinner with Jenn at Marlow & Sons (yum!) here in Williamsburg. Yesterday was a chill day. I took a morning yoga class at Equinox and then ventured over to the Brooklyn Museum for a little culture. Perfect little weekend!
When I ordered this top I had no idea how much I would love it. It looked like it might be to formal/office-y but that’s not the case as it can be dressed down so easily. I LOVE IT. It’s one of my favorite things in my closet right now as it’s so versatile – with pants, jeans, skirts, everything. It’s the sort of top that you can wear to meetings all day but then also out to dinner and drinks after. And the stripes, which you know I adore. It’s a little bit longer in back which you can’t really tell from the photos but I like that, it gives it a more relaxed look. There are a lot of days where I will come into the city and work out of Soho House or a coffee shop… taking meetings and then running to dinner, a work event, or a date afterward. This outfit is my ideal on days like that as I always feel put together and polished/ready for any situation… although full disclosure, I’d probably have a pair of slip on sneakers nearby! I don’t wear my Manolos on the street… at least not in this weather! 😉
Outfit Details: Vince Camel Coat (from last year but if you are looking for a good camel coat I love this, this, this, this, and this!) // Rag & Bone Top (also available here) // American Eagle Outfitters Jeans // Manolo Blahnik Pumps // Chanel Purse // Vintage Chanel Earrings (can’t find exacts but love these and these!) // BP Sunglasses (old but these are very similar)
Help. I can’t get the wrinkles out of my coat. This is it, just back from the dry cleaners and they are STILL THERE. If you have any ideas, I am all ears!!!
Though I am shopping a lot less this year I am really, really happy that I bought this top. It’s an instant favorite and you will get so much mileage out of it! That being said, I know it’s a splurge. If you are looking for a less expensive version, I also love the look of this $26 option, this pretty pink blouse, or this pretty sheer striped blouse. Or for a solid, I love this Madewell top (available here + here).
