I’m excited to share a project I’ve been working on with Proactiv Skincare, as their newest brand ambassador! They sent over a huge assortment from their product line, and every month, I’ll be sharing a few of my favorite products from the collection, and how they work for me. This is a bit of a dream as I’m a complete and utter product junkie and love trying out new products. Before we dive in, one caveat: we all have different skin, so what works for me may not necessarily work for you. These are my honest thoughts, and I have combination skin. My cheeks and forehead have dryer tendencies, whereas my nose and chin are a oilier. I’ll get one or two really bad breakouts that stick out like sore thumbs. I’m starting to see some tiny signs of aging – lines around my eyes, dark circles… (I won’t go on, or I’ll get depressed!) I break out rather rarely, but when I’m stressed – or working out a lot, my skin develops a mind of its own and breaks out quite a bit.
For that reason, I’ve found that using a deep cleansing face wash and a super hydrating moisturizer is the best recipe for success. I absolutely love Proactiv’s Renewing Cleanser and Green Tea Moisturizer.
The Renewing Cleanser is one of my favorite new things because it cleanses so deeply. I really feel like I am detoxifying my skin when I use this. It also doubles as a scrub, which I adore. The tiny beads scrub away dirt, debris, and dead skin that would otherwise leave my skin ready to break out. I use it every other day – it’s like insurance, keeping my skin breakout free.
The Green Tea Moisturizer is insanely hydrating, and incredibly refreshing… without being greasy. I should note that I still apply a few drops of face oil to dry spots (forehead and cheeks,) but this works really well – and smells amazing! Green tea also works as an anti-inflammatory; so if your skin is feeling red/angry, this is just the thing. It also contains Macadamia Nut Oil to help soften skin + lock in moisture.
