If you follow along on social media, then you know that last weekend, I was down in Cozumel, Mexico at the InterContinental Presidente Resort & Spa. Oh my. What an amazing three nights… I didn’t want to come home! I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Mexico now (see my full travel guide page here), but I had never spent any time in Cozumel! The InterContinental is the perfect weekend escape, especially if you love to snorkel. As Cozumel’s only luxury resort, and the only resort built right on a reef, the InterContinental boasts 218 rooms along a half mile private beach. Paradise Reef is just outside the hotel, so you can literally (if you are staying in one of the reefside rooms) walk out of your room and onto the reef to snorkel.

During my time at the InterContinental, I was able to experience so much… the three incredible restaurants, the hotel’s spa (including a traditional Mayan Temezcal Ritual!), a day long snorkeling trip, and much more. Next week I’m going to tell you a bit more about what we did, but today I wanted to focus on the gorgeous property (and share a few of my outfits, naturally).

Every detail at the hotel is thought of for you… for example, I forgot to pack a beach bag but not to worry… this one was waiting for me in my room (stuffed with beach towels). It was just a loan, but I wanted to take it home with me!

The most beautiful heated infinity pool. There really is nothing like sitting in the pool, cocktail in hand, watching the sun set while the water appears to touch the ocean.

One thing I loved is how true the hotel stays to Mayan culture. The hotel staff greets you (morning, noon, and night) with the traditional Mayan greeting (“Malob Kiin” which means Good Sun). The architecture (while ultra luxe) also stays true to Cozumel’s Mayan heritage, and every night after dinner there was a new Mayan bedtime story laid out for us on our beds.

We toured the property and all of the rooms are really, really nice. Prices per night start at $200 for the most basic (but still lovely) room, all the way up to $5,000 per night to stay in the ultra-luxe Presidential Suite (if you saw my snapchat during the trip, you know how all about how amazing that is!!!)

The InterContinental Presidente Hotel - Cozumel | Avocado Margarita

If you visit, you must try the Avocado Margarita!! I had never had one before and couldn’t imagine it tasting very good. It was amazing… I ended up having one every day! (And yes, you can expect a recipe coming soon… I’ve already been tinkering around in my kitchen, trying to recreate it).

As for dining, the resort boasts 3 amazing restaurants (with plans to open a fourth steakhouse style restaurant in the Spring).

  • Le Cap – the hotel’s beautiful beachfront bar. We enjoyed an incredible pre-set menu here on our first night.
  • Alfredo di Roma – delicious Italian food + amazing wine list (it sounds funny but you have to try the Fettuccine Alfredo – it’s incredible!!)
  • El Caribeno – the main bar/restaurant. We had tacos for lunch from here every day. The breakfast buffet is also amazing… they have a juice station with every sort of fresh juice you could imagine drinking, traditional Mexican fare, an omelette station… the works!

The resort prides itself on being family friendly, though it tends to attract mostly couples. There are several adults-only areas… like the adult pool, pictured above in all it’s reflective glory!

Seriously, I saw this table setup above and wondered if they were filming The Bachelor! So dreamy.

Your photos make me want to fly there now and ditch the cold weather. That last picture with the hammock on the sea’s edge!

I must say, all three outfits are great. The gold on both dresses and the green tassel earrings sort of allows you to take a little of the holiday season with you to the beach! p.s. that place looks amazing!
