Today I have two things to tell you.
First, a confession. For all of the fancy gift guides I’ve pulled together for you, when it comes to actually asking for things, it’s always the same: socks (yes I love nice socks and never buy them for myself!!), pajamas, and workout gear. I know that I’m notoriously hard to shop for (I have everything) so I always ask for practical gifts from my family… things I really appreciate but never manage to actually buy myself! Thanks to Nike, I checked off three of the things on my wish list: a hoodie that would block the wind when I’m out running, warm but still socially acceptable sweatpants (I’m not wearing these in the pictures but trust me on this one – they’re amazing) that I can pull over shorts to go to the gym (I like working out in shorts, but I am lazy and hate changing at the gym… having a pair of cozy pants I can pull on and off makes a difference), and sneakers that I can wear to the gym if I want… but also out and about because they’re the prettiest!
The second thing I have to tell you is also maybe a bit of a confession: I’ve been really bad at getting to the gym. I realized a couple weeks ago that this is bad (duh besides being unhealthy, exercise has always been how I deal with stress) so I have started a little daily ritual to help kickstart healthier habits… I go for what I call a Podcast Walk. As it’s not very (even slightly) strenuous, it’s become something I look forward to, and helps manage stress. I’ll throw on activewear, put on a podcast, and walk for an hour (either on the treadmill or outside if it’s nice). I just did a separate post about my favorite podcasts, but right now I’m really into Pod Save America, Reply All, Pop Culture Happy Hour, and Modern Love.
I’ve also put together a few of my favorite gifts from Nike… here they are! (how fun are those pink + gold sneakers? I went with the gold for my post as they’re more versatile but I looooove the pink!
