My favorite blog projects are the ones where I can get a little bit creative. That’s why working with Shutterfly is always a lot of fun. You might remember that this past holiday, my sister and I teamed up to create some super fun photo gifts for my family (I still use the oversized mugs every time I go home)! This time around, the brand encouraged me to plan a late summer picnic using their personalized home decor items to create a spread that is a little bit unexpected.
I instantly knew what I wanted to do… it had to be stripes! I had the idea to repurpose my striped t-shirts to create the perfect set of pillows… and a soft fluffy blanket to picnic upon. It was very easy… the process only took about half an hour. I started by taking photos of the stripes from a few of my favorite tees and then uploaded them to Shutterfly, and the rest was history. I used a classic white with navy striped tee to dress this ultra soft blanket, and stacked a few of my favorite tees together to come up with multi-color pillows. (Shutterfly’s outdoor pillows are so great – you can be easily spend an afternoon luxuriating, snuggling up with a book on them, but you don’t have to worry about them getting wet on the grass.)
To top it all off, I also personalized one of their beautiful glass carafes, + a set of six wine glasses with my monogram). I’m a sucker for any and all things monogrammed — these would make for the perfect gift for anyone and everyone… especially a newly engaged/married couple.
PS – if you want to “copy” my little DIY, I’ve included the files for my striped tees at the bottom of this post. Just download the full size and then upload into Shutterfly. 🙂
(I really love how you can see the “stitching” on the blue stripes.)
