I bought this dress on pre-order a while back from Moda Operandi. It’s from an up & coming designer, Perrat Schaad. It just spoke to me as it was different from anything I have in my closet (and… truly the perfect shade of cerulean blue.) I love the oversized cut (like a man’s shirt) + tie waist. When I wear it, I feel as though I should be living in the fifties, summering at the French Riviera. A girl can dream, right? I will say that the dress does wrinkle easily, which is a bummer… so it’s probably better for vacations than meetings in New York. (I steamed it in the morning and then wore it to a day of meetings + working out of the Soho House), and by the time we shot the outfit, I’d wrinkled the dress. Oh well. Wrinkles aside, I love the soft fabric + the way it moves hen I walk.
A little bit about the designer for you… Perret Schaad is designed by two women: Johanna Perret and Tutia Schaad. The two share a love of pattern cutting and a passion for draping which is evident in their designs. The Spring/Summer collection is very fluid and sculptural, and I really love the color palette the y chose.
