What if I told you that you could cure your cold AND get a little bit tipsy, all at the same time? Okay, I’m not making any claims here… (and you probably shouldn’t drink when you are sick) but if you insist upon having a cocktail, this should be it. It’s infused with honey, ginger, and lemon… all the things you need.. AND it’s also really delicious. A winning combination for sure.
You’ll Need…
- 2 oz. Scotch or Whiskey
- 1/2 oz. Honey
- 1/2 oz. Ginger Syrup (Learn how to make it here)
- One Lemon
- Hand Held Juicer (I use mine a shocking amount!)
Begin by juicing the lemon into a jar or shaker. Add the honey, ginger syrup, and whiskey.
Stir vigorously. I purposely don’t add ice while stirring as it takes a bit of work to dissolve the honey.
Pour over ice, and serve with a lemon wheel.
Looks delicious! Thanks for sharing!

I don’t think I’d do the alcoholic version but I do definitely turn to honey, ginger, lemon tea when I have a sore throat! I used to think it was so disgusting to drink because the smell was so horrible. I had to plug my nose while I drank. Now it’s not so bad (maybe my Mom made it less strong who knows…)

Great post!
It sound delicious!
But no, alcohol is not recommended if you are sick 🙂
I’ve blogged about 10 myths about influenza, and the alcohol myth is almost a classic 😉
