After Montmartre, we hopped in a cab and headed down the hill and to the Seine, where we walked along the river – stopping into the book shops along the street. We visited Notre Dame, found a “curiosites shop,” where we ended up buying an assortment of old perfume bottles (now at home, sitting atop our piano.) We crossed the Seine and walked back to Notre Dame, through the surrounding area, and finally sat down with a glass of wine at a cute little cafe overlooking the river. There is something magical about the Seine at night… the way the lights reflect off of the water, the tiny booksellers that line the streets… but then again, it is Paris… and everything is magical in Paris!
More… after the break!
