Outfit: Spirit Animal

J.Crew Cardigan (now on sale!) // Madewell Tank (sold out but similar) // Lulu Frost Necklace (also love the wolf) //J.Crew Jeans (live in these) // Rebecca Minkoff Heels (now on sale) // gifted C. Wonder Clutch (on sale!) and Cuff

I bought this necklace when I visited with Lulu Frost and am absolutely in love with it.  I’d sleep in it if I could.  Even with a discount, it is one of the most expensive pieces of costume jewelry I’ve ever bought.  But I saw it, and just fell in love.  It’s not practical, but it’s truly special… and I know myself and know that I will wear this piece forever!  Be prepared to see a lot more of it on the blog.  I love how the yellow pairs with the pink and the blue clutch (a gift from my ad network and a new favorite!)

i’m going to sound like a bitch, but i’m going to say it anyway. i’ve recently been made aware of your blog, and i have to say A for effort, but maybe try not trying so hard. i know i know, why comment if its going to be negative, its really constructive criticism. i’ve been a stylist for years and appreciate each individual piece, but together it looks like a train wreck. from this, and previous posts it has been made clear, money can not buy you style…. bitchy yes, but someone had to say it.

Hi Christine, Yes, this does come across as bitchy. I think style is a very personal thing… and I happen to really love this outfit. The combination of bright colors + my lion necklace makes me happy. To me, that is what fashion is about. It’s not about money, or designer items, or any of that. If you hate my style so much, then you don’t need to visit. This is my blog, and I’m going to wear what I want. I’ve never proclaimed to be a stylist, or even an expert on style. I will say that a big part of being a stylist is encouraging other peoples’ personal style… so I’m surprised that you felt the need to come on here and tear me down! While I appreciate that you took the time to comment, I would not say that calling me a train wreck is exactly constructive.

First of all, I am just kind of flabbergasted by Christine’s comment. I find it unnecessary and odd. I don’t remember you asking for “constructive criticism”, and I think constructive criticism would sound very different. The phrases “trying to hard” and “train wreck” are insulting and ugly. I believe that constructive criticism would provide something that was actually constructive. A commentary on colors or something along those lines… What she has found that really makes an outfit rock, maybe. Anonymity in this case is kind of pissing me off.

What I scrolled through the comments to say originally was that I am so happy that you are wearing that LuLu Frost piece! Wear the heck out of it, it is fabulous. And I love the fresh face makeup and simple hair. Truly beautiful! xoxo

Ohh I love that necklace – it’s so eclectic & fun.

As I was scrolling through to comment I saw Christine’s comment above. How rude. Her “constructive criticism” was totally false and not constructive at all. I happen to love your style, and love that you aren’t a clone of everything else on the internet right now. You exude creativity every day and are such an inspiration. Keep up the great work, Grace!

    Isn’t That Charming.
