Outfit Diary, 8.17.22
Last week was a mix of Charleston and LA. It was so nice to get out of the heat for a few days to spend time with my boyfriend, get to the beach, and squeeze in some good sushi and art. I got back on Monday night (late, late… there were a few weather delays getting home!). This week is a low key-ish one. Work, a shoot, a few drinks things, that’s it. I’m still feeling a little bit jet lagged to be honest! Also, I said it on Instagram but this Mille dress is the best to travel in. I find myself changing temperatures between the plane and airport. It’s nice and breathable if you are sweating/running to get your connection; but also long enough to keep you covered if you get cold on the plane. Ideal travel uniform!!!

Have you ever checked your Rimowa suitcase? I am interested in investing in one since I usually carry on and it looks so light and chic, but so worried about the dreaded forced check. I would hate to ruin such an expensive bag.
Yes, I have! I have the larger size too and will always check that. I have probably checked it 5 or 6 times now and will say that it’s gotten a bit dented but it doesn’t bother me. While my Away would get scuffed (the magic eraser was a godsend) and uglier from damage, I feel like it has character! The aluminum will dent and get a little scratched but IMO it is still really beautiful!
Loving the Farm Rio lobster dress! Would you say it runs big since it’s a relaxed fit?
Yes! I meant to note that here but I sized down to a small!
Just sitting here swooning over your rose gold Chanel sandals. They are just so good!

You NEED!
hi grace,
i am somewhat new to your blog, so i’m sorry if you already have a post about this, but would you be willing to talk more about your long-distance relationship? just before i moved, i met a really great guy, but we are both in pretty demanding careers and aren’t sure if we want to commit to long distance. the “distance” wouldn’t even be that far – just a 3ish hour train ride.
have you always been long distance, or did one of you move after you had already established a foundation living close together? how long have you been long distance (if you don’t mind me asking)? did you enter into the long distance knowing that it would be temporary, and that one of you will plan to move eventually, or was it more open-ended? how did you know that he was absolutely your person and the separation would be better than dating someone new? how do you deal with the distance – missing just giving them a hug, sharing the mundane things like making dinner and watching tv at the end of a long day, not going crazy or feeling jealous?
sorry if these questions are too personal, it just seems like you have such a stable, happy relationship and i would love some advice.
thank you!
jackie
Hi Jackie! My relationship is something personal that I don’t talk about too much here, I’m sorry! It’s just not a part of my life that I want to put all over the Internet, and he feels the same.. 🙂
I will just say that it’s something we both think is worthwhile. It isn’t always easy but before this I was single for a long time and know when to hold on to a good thing! I wish you all the very best. It’s not easy but it’s worth it (and I also personally love having a balance of together time and alone time!) xo
thank you so much for taking the time to respond grace, i completely understand glad you have found your “good thing” and we’ll see if this is mine!
Loving your style evolution lately!!!
