Outfit Diary, 6.27.23
Last week was a relatively chill one. I had a few social outings but mostly just hung at home, working, reading, etc. The thunderstorms continued (the weather here has been truly wild!) and I had a nice calm weekend (out to the beach on Saturday, lounged/worked/did chores on Sunday). This week is a busier one; I have plans most nights but all fun things I’ve been really looking forward to. Also! This is a little random but I need some good TV show recs. I’m in a bit of a hangover state post Succession. Drop your recs in the comments section, pretty please. Movies too!

TV recs –
Barry (took me a minute to get into, but now I love) – MAX
Platonic – Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne, funny and very LA – Apple TV
How I Met Your Father – cuter/better than you’d expect – Hulu
Friends from College – criminally underrated and great cast – Netflix
Thank you so much for the recommendations!!!!
The Bear on Hulu- about a family restaurant in Chicago. It’s intense and so real.
Somebody Somewhere on Max- a comedy about love and friendship and acceptance
I couldn’t get into the first season but everyone loves it so much! I might need to retry!
Going to check out Somebody Somewhere!!!
I’ll second The Bear recommendation, SO GOOD! Amazing acting performances and writing.
I’m also watching And just like that…but not loving it so far.
I couldn’t get into the first season but everyone loves it so much! I might need to retry!
Also watching And Just Like That. I like it. But more just for the characters who I’d been so attached to and to find out what happens. And as someone who left, New York nostalgia!
We’ve been enjoying The Crowded Room on AppleTv with Tom Holland and Amanda Seyfried. It’s a psychological thriller with a lot of twists. We have no idea where it’s going which is fun.
Also the Silo on Apple is another Sci-if type suspense that’s been solid.
Movie Rec: You Hurt My Feelings starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus. It’s sort of a midlife crisis rom com.
Seconding Friends from College and How I Met Your Father but my favorite recent show is Jury Duty on Amazon. Almost no one I know has seen it but it was hilarious and heartwarming and I’ve never seen a show like it. Definitely try it!
just finished Never Have I Ever on netflix…mindy kaling’s show. it took me a little while to get into it but once I got going I was obsessed. the writing is brilliant, it’s laugh out loud funny, and so heartwarming. I cried every season! wasn’t a huge fan of the ending though and would love to hear your thoughts!
If you love Never Have I Ever, you should watch Sex Lives of College Girls. It’s another show by Mindy Kaling & it’s great- both poignant and funny!
Tv recs
– I second Barry
– also loving Silo, Shrinking and Beef
TV Recs
Another one for The Bear on Hulu
Marvelous Mrs Maisel on Amazon Prime – clothes are fabulous!!
Never Have I Ever…
Younger – so fun
Suits – oldie but goodie- Meghan Markle before she married Harry
I just started watching Suits and I am loving it!
Somebody Somewhere is my favorite show ever. So good.
South Side is really funny and great characters.
The Other Two is another great comedy. Molly Shannon is so great!
Surrogacy on Netflix is great. 24 episodes on a high powerful family spans 24 years with lots of twists and turns.
I’m surprised no one mentioned Daisy Jones and the Six on Amazon Prime. Just finished the series last night and ended up loving it as much as I loved Succession. Huge fan of Taylor Jenkins Reid books.
They probably didn’t suggest as I already RAVED it. Such a great show. I still think about it constantly!
Oops… I must have missed that and same – can’t stop thinking about it!
