Like it or not, coat season is upon us. It’s funny… all summer long I wished for Fall to be here, and then that nice cool-but-not-too-cool weather really only lasted a few weeks. Alas, the best part of cold weather is simple. Coats. I love ’em. This ice blue coat from Elie Tahari is quickly becoming a favorite in my closet and today I’ve styled it three different ways… for the weekend, for the workday, and for evening! I love everything about it… the menswear silhouette, the suede panels on the arms… but most of all, the color! The coat makes such a statement that no matter what you are wearing, you will look + feel more put together.
First up: my weekend look. My weekend style is pretty classic. I stick to simple silhouettes and like to keep it cozy! A big cozy scarf, ankle boots and boyfriend jeans… done. The coat pulls things together and keeps my outfit from looking to schleppy. I think one of the Olsen twins once said that if you had a great coat and sunglasses, you can wear pretty much anything. The saying rings true.
PS – Over on Facebook, you can win the Elie Tahari coat of your choice!

And this is my daytime look! A ladylike blouse tucked into a feminine skirt, paired with classy pumps. I’m a little bit obsessed with this Lauren Lail top and love how well the floral pattern pairs with the ice blue of the coat. My pumps keep things polished without being distracting… same goes for the skirt. This is a great outfit to wear when things are hectic and you aren’t quite sure what the day is going to throw at you.

The last look is my evening look. This is what I’d wear on a date or out to dinner with my girlfriends. I bought this dress in Italy seven years ago and still reach for it all the time… it’s one of those easy pieces you can just throw on when you’re having one of those “I have nothing to wear!!!” moments. It looks amazing layered under the coat and paired with my over the knee boots.

And there you have it… one coat, three ways! Which look is your fave?

i love the color of that coat! xo jillian
I usually shy away from the ice blue color, but it looks amazing on you! I love the work look – that blouse is gorgeous.
Beautiful coat – love the color on you!!
I love all of these looks, but I think I love the jeans and scarves look the best. It’s great when a coat can be so versatile, especially when you’ll be wearing it all the time for the next few months.
