On My Radar…

Okay no shade to the Nordstrom sale. It’s my favorite. But I do worry that it makes my blog (and other blogs) a bit boring as we’re all featuring the same stuff (same but still good, for the record… but still, around this time of year, blogs can get a bit boring). That’s why I’m excited about today’s post. It is (for me at least), a refreshing break… just a bunch of really cool stuff that I saw/read about/tried this month. From an adult sippy cup (YAS) to the best drugstore self-tanner ever to the prettiest feather slides, there are a lot of fun discoveries over here today! You can click the image above to learn more, or keep reading to learn why these things are all so special. This series is always a favorite and you can check out last month’s finds right this way

ONE // Kaleidoscopic Flatware Set. Um, how cool is this? I saw this flatware at CB2 and let out a minor shriek. It’s just so fun and unexpected… I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s stainless steel flatware with an iridescent finish. And it’s dishwasher safe! (Not that I have a dishwasher, but you probably do.) They also sell a single serving set and a dessert server.

TWO // Felt and Fat x Emily Daley. After featuring Felt and Fat in this post, I went ahead and bought six of the large dinner plates in marbled pink (they are magic for the record). But then I saw this mug and knew I needed that too. With it’s pink lining + gold details on the handle, I am just obsessed. I drink my morning coffee from it every morning and swear that it has the capacity to make even the worst mornings just slightly better!

THREE // Dr. Dennis Gross Spectralite EyeCare Pro. My biggest concern, agin-wise, is the area around my eyes. Whenever I smile, there are a LOT of lines. I’m vigilant with sunscreen and sunglasses but I am so, so excited about this little device. It arrived in the mail yesterday (I will be doing a proper review!!) but the premise is that the LED  light stimulates skin receptors to amp up collagen production. Wear it for three minutes a day, and in two weeks you will see results. We’ll see how it goes… I will report back!

FOUR // BaubleBar Earrings. These earrings have become a new favorite. You’ll probably see a lot of them in my outfit posts as I have them in both turquoise and red! Love, love, love. They are perfectly lightweight and such a nice way to inject a bold pop of color into your outfit (think little white sundresses, crocheted tops + jeans) without putting in much effort since it’s so hot right now!

FIVE // Paravel Limited Edition Collection. I’ve featured Paravel here before but their new capsule collection is so beautiful! The collection features two prints; my favorite being the one featured above. It’s inspired by an antique wallpaper found in Lake Como, Italy and reimagined onto (stain-proof) cotton canvas. Each bag is individually hand numbered with a gold stamp… fancy!

SIX // NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment. NARS sent these over and I have had the most fun playing with them all month long. You may think, “oh no, yet another liquid lipstick,” but what makes these special are the colors. NARS just does color so well (better than anyone else, in my opinion). The formula itself is great too (non-drying but stays on for hours), but the colors are especially pretty.

SEVEN // Brother Vellies Feather Slides. This brand has been all over my instagram, specifically all over the cool girls’ instagrams. And I mean, you know I love a good fluffy shoe… but the fact that these are slides (so comfy) makes me very happy. They are so fun!!!

EIGHT // Aquazzura x De Gournay. Ugh I am late to the party here and so desperately coveting these pumps (I’ll be stalking The Real Real, eBay, etc) because they’re almost totally sold out. De Gournay makes the greatest wallpaper, and Aquazzura has some of my favorite shoes. It’s a match made in (gorgeous floral pastel) heaven.

NINE // Self-Tanning Serum. I’ve raved and raved about L’Oreal’s Sublime Bronze self-tanners (they are so good!!) but this serum is even better than the original. It’s super lightweight and leaves you with the most believable sun-kissed glow… without a single smudge or streak. I used before my trip to the Hamptons this weekend (see this instagram for evidence) and got compliments on my Cape Cod “tan…” little did most people know, it was all a faux glow.

TEN // Adult Sippy Cup. For tailgating, picnics in the park, and so much more… these are awesome, and basically the most chic adult sippy cup you can buy. It’s a glass cup (so not to contaminate your wine with a plastic-y flavor), with a silicone sleeve and a drink-through lid. It holds 17 oz of your beverage of choice and the glass is thicker than your typical wine glass (and therefore harder to break).

I gotta say, i’m so tired of posts about the nordstrom sale-it seems like most people are posting the exact same items and it’s not like these items/brands can’t be found other places and gasp, sometimes even for better prices.

I hear you. From a blogger POV I would say two things – first, we write the posts for those readers that don’t follow very many blogs… and second, for most bloggers, the sale represents a huge chunk of their annual income which (by using affiliate links) which is why bloggers push it so hard. Not defending, just wanted to shed a little light!

Anyway, my sale coverage is done. I might link to a few things but there won’t be any more sale-specific posts… it isn’t fun content to write.

What a fun post! Does the Loreal product leave that awful lingering smell that is unique to self-tanners ?

      Hi Amanda,
All self tanners smell pretty bad but this one is minimal!!

I was just thinking “if I see ONE more Nordstrom post…” haha. I get that bloggers make a lot of money from the posts but man does it get repetitious! Great roundup here, that mug is straight-up heart-eyes!

so curious to hear what you think of the spectrelite eye care pro!!! My biggest area of concern is under my eyes so this product intrigues me….reviews on the product seem to say it works great for crows feet and eleven lines, but lacks a little for the undereye area 🙁 I hope you do a whole post on product suggestions and general tips to care for the eye area! 🙂

I’m liking it so far though it takes about a month to see results. I did shoot it and am planning to do a review once I’ve used it an entire month! I do think it is more for crows feet than undereye. For undereye specifically, I LOVED Verso’s eye cream. It sucks up eye bags!!
